It is incredibly exciting to be able to say that Christmas at the Glacier, a Festival of Craft and Art, has reached this 25th milestone year! Looking back to the early days when I spent hours on the phone calling potential vendors to take part in the first show in 1993, and my son Kirk was a baby (phone calls were made between his nap times!), we have certainly come a long way. The Glacier building itself was barely complete in the Spring of that year
when the idea of starting a brand new Craft and Art Festival was formed. I’m so grateful to the vendors from across Newfoundland and the Maritimes who took a chance with the first show and helped establish its success.
Fast forward to 25 years later, partnering up with CGI Entertainment along the way, the show is bigger than ever. Now attracting almost 200 crafters and artisans from across Canada, it is well established as the kick off to the Christmas shopping season, an annual
family tradition for many, with visitors from those early days telling us they now bring their own children and grandchildren to the show!
Sending a heartfelt thank you to all our suppliers, visitors and vendors alike, for your amazing support over the years, as well as the Glacier arena staff and the City of Mount Pearl who have been there consistently for us. So very much appreciated.
We hope that this 25th Anniversary show will be one of the best yet, we’ve been working hard to attract new and unique vendors, to help make it a very special Christmas for you and your loved ones. Enjoy, and best wishes for the upcoming Christmas Season.
See you at the show.......!!!Sandra FlynnSales and Event ManagerCGI Entertainment

Christmas at the Glacier began for me in 2003, when I partnered with Sandra to organize the shows. I took the greater part of the first show to meet vendors personally, as I listened to feedback and suggestions. Sandra and I spent the next 15 years implementing changes that have made the show even better, as we now celebrate 25 years of Christmas at the Glacier!
In my time I’ve met a lot of wonderful people,
Bev and Sandra, taking a break, 2012
learnt about the industry and developed a greater appreciation for craft producers. Organizing a show of this magnitude requires months of preparation. The show itself brings more than it’s share of challenges, and although the event days are long and busy, seeing the smiles and hearing the positive feedback makes it all worth the effort. I look forward to the annual shows and connecting with vendors, staff and customers, many of whom we only get to see during the event.
We are thankful for the hard work and dedication of our vendors and suppliers, support of show sponsors, and commitment from staff. Many regular staff juggle their day jobs to help with the show. We are also thankful to customers who travel from near and far to visit the event, often as part of an annual family tradition.
Christmas at the Glacier, as the official kick off to the season, would not be possible without your past support, and we look forward to the next 25 years!

BUTLER FRAMING AND GALLERY Butler Framing and Gallery have been a proud attendee of the Christmas at the Glacier Show since it’s inception. I fondly remember the first show, the hype as patrons worked through the crowds of people to see or buy a craft, artwork or piece of fudge! It was the first of its kind. In 1992 our business was a home based business and the show provided an excellent means for promotion and advertising of our custom framing.
25 Year Exhibitors
Then in 1996 when our Art Gallery and Frame shop opened on 2 Moores Drive in Mount Pearl, the show provided an opportunity to educate cunsumers on art and framing, while promoting the work of Newfoundland and Labrador artists and photographers.
We enjoy participating in the show each year, connecting with old friends and meeting new friends. Twenty five years later we are both still in business, which speaks to the support and commitment from our supporters and the valued service/ product we are providing.
Congratulations Sandra, Bev, and all the staff on a job well done, we look forward to being part of this great event for many years to come. Thank you also to the many supporters who help small business survive.
Sincerely, Henry Butler
CREATIVE WORLD We have been participating in Christmas at the Glacier for 25 years, and look forward to seeing old friends and meeting new customers each year. The event has had a positive impact on our business, and subsequent sales at our two stores in Clarenville. We offer a good mix of products at the Glacier and this entices customers to visit our stores to see and buy more. The customer base is from all over the Province!
Christmas at the Glacier continues to draw record numbers year after year, and our hats are off to the Organizers. Keep up the good work Sandra and Bev....., see you at the Show!!! Gerald and Ali HuntCreative World
GOLDSTAR FUDGE Congratulations to “Christmas at the Glacier”. I have been a participant of the show since it’s inception, and have wonderful memories gathered over 25 years. .......I remember an organizer who came to visit a show in Halifax, NS, seeking crafters to get a show rolling way back when, for that I give great thanks as it helped me further spread my wings.
This event has experienced great success due to the devoted promoters and awesome staff. Thanks to all, and continued blessings to the promoters, show owners and crafters. The best show possibly in Atlantic Canada!
Best Wishes, Carol Saunders, Goldstar Fudge

Jungle Jim’s is proud to, once again, support the annual Christmas at the Glacier, as we have done from the event’s beginning in 1993. From our beginnings in 1991 in St. John’s, NL, Jungle Jim’s has grown into the most widely-recognized full-service casual dining restaurant and bar operator in Newfoundland and Labrador, and the largest (non-pizza) operator in Atlantic Canada, as measured by number of units. The Jungle prides itself on service that is a little bit more fun and a whole lot friendlier than most other restaurants. A warm welcome, great service and delicious food is what keeps our Guests coming back time and time again. Our diverse menu, featuring such items as the Kitchen Sink™, Chicken Taquitos, Normie Burger, and Jim’s Jumbo Hurricane drink, is sure to feed the hunger, thirst and imagination. Swing On In to a Jungle Jim’s near you today. Eat. Drink. Have Fun!

YIELD: 12 Scones
INGREDIENTS:4 cups all purpose flour
½ cup white sugar
1 cup butter, melted
½ tsp salt2 eggs2 1/2 cups fresh buttermilk
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
Buttermilk Scones
Compliments of
Kevin Massey,
Old Dublin Bakery
METHOD:• Sift the flour, sugar, salt, baking soda and baking powder together into a large
bowl. Lifting the sifter out of the bowl will help aerate the scones.
• Add the melted butter, eggs and buttermilk together. Mix gently to avoid
overmixing the eggs.
• Make a well in the centre of the dry mixture and pour in the wet mixture in 2
intervals, gently stirring in between.
• Continue to stir just until dough is mixed, be careful not to overmix. The texture
may need adjusting with either a little flour or buttermilk as it should be a very
soft and slightly sticky mixture.
• Turn out onto a floured surface and with floured hands turn your dough a
couple of times to ensure proper mixing. If you are flavouring the dough press
it out and add your flavour now.
• Whether you have flavoured the scones or not, gently roll it out to a thickness
of one inch, fold it in half and repeat the process. The layers will help the
scones remain light in texture.
• Finally roll the dough into a approximate round shape and then cut into 12
equal wedges. Space evenly on a parchment lined sheet and bake for 15-18
mins until just golden.Visit our booth in the
