WE WILL ROCK YOU PROP For our next production Arts Unit, we have been tasked with designing a prop for a school production of the Ben Elton Musical ‘We Will Rock You’. The prop would be featured about midway through the show when all the refugees in the London Underground explain Rock and Roll Music to the hero. The prop is a guitar made out of album covers, discarded guitar strings, a cardboard box and a broom stick. The prop is to represent the poverty of the refugees and how they do not have the money to own a proper guitar and how they live in slums of forts, scavenging what they can to survive. The album covers on the guitar are implied to be from old vinyl's and they include ‘II’ by Queen, ‘The Dark Side Of The Moon’ by Pink Floyd and ‘Abbey Road’ by the Beatles. The materials required to make it would be relatively easy, all I’d need would be a cardboard box, a broom stick, guitar strings and laminated paper with the album covers on them.
