Zonta International envisions a world in which women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able

to achieve her full potential.

In such a world, women have access to all resources and are represented in decision

making positions on an equal basis with men.

In such a world, no woman lives in fear of violence.

Our Vision Is Not Yet a Reality

In the U.S., there are 2 million injuries annually and 1,300 deaths due to domestic violence.

• In Canada, half of All women have experienced at least 1 incident of physical or sexual violence since turning 16.

• On average, every 6 days, a Canadian women is killed by her intimate partner.

Every 9 seconds a woman is beaten or assaulted

• At least, 1 in 3 women will experience violence • 50% of sexual assault victims are 16 or under • 64 million child brides exist • 140 million women suffer female genital

childbirth
