Page 1 of 2 We urge customers to read the detailed printed instruction manual before beginning assembly. Then, before proceeding with assembly, we suggest you contact your dealer or speak to a Maxford USA customer service representative (562-529-3988, Monday through Friday except national holidays, from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific time) with any question. (You may also contact us at our customer service email address: [email protected] – however, a telephone conversation is always the most effective way to resolve any question.) Thanks to such feedback, we can sometimes offer additional helpful assembly notes, as follows: To ensure there can be a good wood-to-wood glue joint for attachment of the fairings to the metal gear struts, the landing gear fairings do not have Mylar covering their inner/lower sides. As you test fit the mounts to the metal struts, make any necessary adjustment to fit the wooden fairing mounts, then use epoxy to secure the fairings to the struts with the wooden fairing mounts. If you are using an electric power system and an electric motor box: Test fit your motor to the motor box and its prop. shaft to the opening in the cowl. Once you are satisfied with the fit, secure the motor to the motor box with the motor’s included hardware, then you may use 4-40 bolts and nuts (not supplied) or 30 minute epoxy to secure the motor box to the firewall. (If you use epoxy, keep the prop. shaft centered in its opening in the cowl until the epoxy has fully cured.) If you are using an electric power system and a battery box: Test fit the battery box through the battery hatch and slide it forward or toward the rear to fine-tune the CG; when you are satisfied with the position of the battery box add wood screws and/or glue to secure the battery box within the fuselage. Battery box slid forward Battery box slid toward the rear To attach the cockpit’s preassembled right-side door: Create ‘invisible hinges’ by applying a strip of transparent tape to the top of the top door and the bottom of the bottom door, where each door panel meets the fuselage. Upper door’s hinge-line (Note: The transparent tape is just barely noticeable.) Lower door’s hinge-line

If you are installing the optional dummy engine: Use the paper template included with the dummy engine and a Dremel tool to cut an opening on each side of the cowl. Test fit the dummy engine to these openings; then use epoxy to secure the dummy engine to the inside of the cowl. (Some customers go so far as to add additional paint the engine’s cylinder heads and exhaust system for even greater scale appeal.)

If you are adding a dashboard, position it immediately in front of the windshield’s front frame posts.

If you are adding a scale throttle control, position it behind the windshield’s left-hand side rear frame post at the pilot’s immediate left-hand side.
