RICHMOND FARMER’S AND MAKER’S MARKET
A proposal for a farmer’s and maker’s market is currently being developed by a working committee under the sponsorship of the Richmond Promotions Group. The proposal is to hold a weekly market in and around the Richmond Hall every Saturday commencing at 9.00am. A Development Application has already been submitted to the Clarence City Council seeking permission to utilise the Hall environs. The objectives of the market are to provide a predominately fresh food outlet that operates regularly within the community at a focal public location and provides a suitable environment for farmers, growers and food producers from the Coal River valley and surrounding districts to sell farm origin and associated value-added food and plant products directly to customers. It is not intended that the market be an outlet for on-sellers or craftwork. The working committee is seeking expressions of interest from persons/organisations who would be interested in setting up a stall at the market, participating in management of the event or who simply have a good idea or comment on how the market should be conducted. Potential stallholders could be: · Farmers growing meat, seafood, dairy products and eggs · Gardeners growing vegetables, fruit herbs, flowers and plants · Providores making cheeses, honey, jams, preserves, oils and nuts · Bakers making breads, cakes, biscuits and pastries, · Cooks making delicious food to sell at the marketPlease direct any communication to John Pooley at [email protected] (Ph:0418120055) or David Ekins at [email protected] (Ph: 0418122233).
