We offer a variety of regular or specialized courses to meet your needs:

• Regular Course: 80+ hours = 2+ modules; regular written tests during and after each module; oral proficiency interview( OPI) at the end of the second module .

• Special Courses (Survival Russian, Business Communication, Presentations in Russian, etc.): 20 or 40 hours; test at the end of the course • All our courses are targeting primarily the work-related needs of World Bank employees.

Frequently Asked Questions and

Answers:

What are the benefits of choosing this program?

  · While most language courses are targeting primarily language acquisition, our Program equally focuses on culture. We discuss the norms and values, as well as history and traditions. We also play role games where you get a chance to practice “cultural” behavior, ask questions about situations you experienced during interactions in missions, or discuss your concerns with the instructor. This allows you to gain a much better and deeper understanding of underlying cultural values and norms that may guide your clients, colleagues and partners. This will enrich your communication and understanding of your partners.

Who pays for my classes?

· Language Department is a part of HR, so your work related language training is free for you, your department and unite.

· IFC pays for training to the Bank as an institution.

· Some customized courses could be funded by the client: the department or the participant.

I travel a lot – what are my options?

 ·  Class schedule and content are designed specifically for the WB employees and are flexible to accommodate your frequent travel. We also offer distance learning options for those who may find time during their trip to work on their assignments via e-mail or work with their instructor via Skype, or get on line via videoconference.

· Although we strongly recommend spending 1 hour of working on your own for each 1 hour of instruction, we certainly understand that families and work would always be your first priority. Many of our students find some time before the class, or at home, but many students choose to do little or no homework at all. This will slow down your progress, but you will still be learning the language. You just would need to adjust your expectations accordingly.
