MORNING Quantum Global
Good Morning & Welcome to Tuesday's trading action at Dalal
Street, dated 11th June 2019.
Outlook for Tuesday: Positive start. Trade
selectively.
In early action, SGX Nifty is seen trading slightly above the dotted lines
despite U.S President Donald Trump warning Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump says additional tariffs on Chinese goods will be levied if Xi Jinping
does not attend this month’s G-20 meeting. Trump is supposed to meet
with Xi at the G-20 summit, which is scheduled for June 28-29 in Osaka,
Japan. The leaders of 19 nations and the European Union are expected to
attend.
Interestingly at the time of writing, Asia too is unfazed by these Trump-Xi
developments as most of the indices are trading in green. Overnight at
Wall Street, Dow Jones ended in green for 6th consecutive session on
hopes of rate cut by the US Federal Reserve on backdrop of a weaker-
than-expected jobs report.
• Digging deeper, the U.S. economy created 75,000 new jobs in May,
well below 185,000 predicted by economists. Weakening economic
data support argument for a cut in interest rates as soon as this
summer.
Well this suggests that the ongoing bull market at Wall Street is entering a
phase where bad economic news is treated as good news. All anxious eyes
from here on will be on the June 18-19 Federal Reserve meeting where the
street is placing a 25.8% chance of a rate cut.
Long story short: Expect global stock markets to trade with positive bias
in near term.
That brings to our call of the day which suggests Nifty will aim to reclaim
psychological 12,000 mark. Technically, Nifty's make-or-break support at
11727.
If yesterday's trading action at Dalal Street is any indication then on the
surface, all seems well, but beneath things look bit turbulent. We say so
because the market breadth indicating the health of the market continues
to be weak.
That brings us to the key themes which are likely to command investors
attention:

MORNING Quantum Global
Technical Strategy1.Monsoon knocks at Mumbai's door with showers. Meanwhile, India’s
monsoon officially arrived South Kerala’s coast on Saturday.
Monsoons are the lifeblood of India’s $2.5 trillion economy and
accounts for 70% of the country’s rainfall.
2.The red flags of recessionary warnings are flagging in all directions.
India's economic growth too has slowed sharply to a five-year low of
5.8% in the three months to 31 March.
3.The street are still widespread apprehensions that a collapse or
bankruptcy in any one large NBFC can lead to systemic contagion
due to the financial sector’s vicious circle.
Please note at this moment, NBFC's are battling liquidity and debt
repayment pressures, primarily due to a skewed asset-liability profile.
Investors will spy with one big eye if the crisis would push up financing
costs and made it harder for NBFCs to access the bond market
The street will anxiously spy with one big eye on the newly elected
Narendra Modi government on how they spur the sluggish Indian
economy to grow at a much faster pace. Investors are concerned over
growth as challenges regarding liquidity continue to linger.
So, commanding attention would be the CPI numbers and IIP numbers —
rolling out on 12th June 2019. Trade Balance & WPI Data expected on
14th June 2019.
Bottom-line: The gyan mantra for the day is to remain highly selective.
STOCKS TO WATCH:
• Our chart of the day suggests establishing long positions in stocks
like UPL, JUBILANT FOODS and ICICI BANK with inter-week
perspective.
• BULLISH STOCKS: JUBILANT FOODS, AIA ENGINEERING,
NAUKRI, HUL, BAJAJ HOLDINGS, AMRUTANJAN, RITES, GUJRAT
FLUROCARBON.
• BEARISH STOCKS: DR REDDYS LAB, RELIANCE CAPITAL,
RELIANCE INFRA, TATA MOTORS, MARUTI, PNB, JSW STEEL,
INFRATEL, HINDALCO, VEDANTA.
• SHOW ME THE MONEY: Option Trade: BUY NIFTY 13th JUNE CE
Strike Price 12000 at CMP 22.85. Profit: Unilimted. Maximum Loss:
Rs. 1,713.75/-. Stop: Exit Call option if Nifty moves below 11851.
(Nifty June Futures CMP 11933.80).
REC enjoyed a strong sessions in last
week's trade, up 4.95%.
Technically, brace yourselves for a major
breakout play from a complex ‘higher
high/low pattern’ on the daily and weekly
charts. An impulse uptrend is seen
forming on the daily time scale, with
positive SAR series, major confirmation
above its intermediate high at 160 mark
(29th March 2019).
Add to that a bullish divergence and a
rising stochastic signal (on weekly charts)
with recent increase in volumes signaling
a larger rebound. The 200 days Simple
Moving Average (SMA) of the stock on the
daily chart is currently at 125 zone. The
level of Rs 125-1311 zone will act as a
strong support zone and any corrective
declines to these levels should be used as
an opportunity to initiate aggressive long
positions.
Establish long positions between 147-150
zone. Targets 162.50/175. Stop 143.

GLOBAL CUES:
• Wall Street stages powerful rally in last SIX trading sessions on rising hopes of Fed rate cut. Also helping sentiments
are the U.S.-Mexico trade tensions that are seen receding. Hurdles for Dow Jones now at 26100 on closing
basis and then major hurdles at 27251.
ECONOMIC CUES:
1.The GST collection which is more than ₹1 lakh crore plus in May. This is third consecutive month of ₹1 lakh crore
plus mobilization.
2.Political winds are in Dalal Street's favor.
3.All hopeful and anxious eyes will be on the new Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman who will present her first
Union Budget on 5 July, 2019. The budget will seek to address some of the challenges confronting the economy,
especially the rural distress and the need for generating quality jobs.
Digging deeper, growth has slipped to a five-quarter low of 6.6% at the end of 2018 and the street suspects that
growth may worsen due to falling rural consumption demand which are clearly visible in automobile, FMCG and aviation.
And then, there are other issues like unemployment, liquidity crisis and fiscal position.

MORNING Quantum Global
So, the first 100-days of government action will be closely watched. The street will purely look forward to infrastructure
spending. The blueprint of pushing difficult and big-ticket reforms will be keenly watched. The other key catalysts in
near term would be:
Buy on dips should be the preferred strategy.
• Preferred trade on Nifty (11923): Buy between 11871-11889 zone. Targets 12001/12151-12251 zone. Stop
11721.
• Preferred trade on Bank Nifty (30857): Buy above 31211 zone. Targets 31751/32201. Stop 30411.
