Kayla Bones Welcome and Concerns of the Church
*Hymn 326 For All the Saints
The Session and members of First Presbyterian Church, Fargo extend a sincere welcome to you. We are grateful for your presence today! We welcome all persons regardless of race, nationality,
disability, gender, or sexual orientation. This includes an open invitation to membership, the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper, marriage, funerals, memorial services, and service as
an officer of the church. Everyone is invited for coffee and fellowship in the Gathering Space after worship.
We recycle! If you are not taking your bulletin, please drop it in the blue bin at the door as you leave. *Please rise in body or spirit.
*Call to Confession
Sing to the Lord a new song! Rejoice and give thanks, for the Lord takes pleasure in the people. Hallelujah! Let us worship God!
For the peace and unity of the saints, trusting in the promise of grace, let us confess our sin to God and to one another.
Holy God, who calls your people into one beloved community, who teaches us the way of peace through life together, who fills us with visions of your eternal reign: as we now celebrate the communion of saints, pour into our hearts the power of Christ, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

The Word Prayer for Illumination Gen Eidem
Lesson Philippians 1:3-11
God of the covenant, who calls all people to reconciliation, you have made us members of the very body of Christ; yet we persist in wounding that body with our divisions, our suspicions, and our neglect. Forgive us, and teach us to nurture unity and peace. For the sake of Jesus Christ and the world he came to save, Amen.
I thank my God every time I remember you, constantly praying with joy in every one of my pray-ers for all of you, because of your sharing in the gospel from the first day until now. I am confi-dent of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ. It is right for me to think this way about all of you, because you hold me in your heart, for all of you share in God’s grace with me, both in my imprisonment and in the de-fense and confirmation of the gospel. For God is my witness, how I long for all of you with the compassion of Christ Jesus. And this is my prayer, that your love may overflow more and more with knowledge and full insight to help you to determine what is best, so that on the day of Christ you may be pure and blameless, having produced the harvest of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ for the glory and praise of God.

Responding to the Word
*Affirmation of Faith Nicene Creed
We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father; through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven, was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became truly human. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

November 10, 2019
Covenant Of Prayer: Sarah; those who are homeless in our community; and our sister congregation, Chogoria.
A Request from B&G and Personnel: Please consid-er NOT bringing beverages and food into the Sanctu-ary—to respect this sacred space, protect our new pew cushions, and avoid spills and cleanup. Coffee and snacks are available in the Gathering Space after the service. This request does not apply to bottles and Cheerios for young children. There is no need to repri-mand anyone who is not aware of this preference.
Separate Checks Please: When making multiple pay-ments/donations, please write separate checks for each. For example, when making your pledge payment and paying your Per Capita, write 2 checks instead of total-ing the amounts and writing one check. Thank you.
We NEED Youth Teachers: Youth Group is in need of a middle school and a high school youth group leader to work with Kayla and team. This is a weekly commitment (7:00-8:00 pm Weds.) and includes teach-ing, leading discussions, building relationships, and shepherding our students. Please contact Kayla Bones at [email protected] if you are interested.
A Peek @ Next Week: Westminster Ringers and Sa-rah Lang , violin soloist, participate in worship.
Remembering Our Soldiers In Prayer: Angelica Martin, KY; Daniel Martin, KS; Will Van Osdel, CA; Tom Drayton, LA; Stacey Lockwood, Middle East; Bryan Spear, in the states. If you have a loved one in the military, please let Pastor Mary know and we’ll in-clude his/her name.
Salvation Army Ringers Needed! We continue taking names today. Please check your calendars and sign up for a shift or two! There are lots of indoor slots to fill starting November 14 and ringing through December 23. Call Ginger Deitz at 701-799-1825 with questions.
Thanksgiving Dinner: Our Thanksgiving Day Dinner is back! To accomplish this, we need scores of volun-teers! A three-ring binder has been placed at the Wel-come Desk. You are encouraged to find tasks that work for your family’s schedule and sign up early (one per-son to a line, please)! You might also consider buying “a feather” to help defray the cost of the turkey!
Today during worship we will name and recognize those church members who have died this past year. There will be an opportunity for family members to come forward to the chancel area to light a candle in remembrance of loved ones. All are invited to partici-pate in this meaningful time to remember recent losses or saints who have gone before us.
Holy Buckets: Especially during the winter months, we have guests at the church in need of hats, gloves, scarves and warm socks. During November, we will be collecting new and gently used winter gear, and new warm socks to keep in the office for those in need dur-ing the winter months. Place items in the green buckets in the Foyer.
PW News: PW Board meets Tuesday, November 12, at 10:00 am. There is no General meeting in Novem-ber. PW Bible study leaders meet with Pastor Holtey on Wednesday, November 13 at 10:00 am. The focus will be Lesson 3 of Carved in Stone. PW Circles meet per the calendar.
A Survey of Contemplative and Mystic Spirituality: God’s love revealed in Jesus Christ is a mystery, not because it is kept hidden but because the whole truth of God’s love lies beyond our human capacity to know completely. Class on Tuesday, November 12, 6:00-8:00 pm: Teachings of Evelyn Underhill and Julian of Norwich.
Movie Night: You are invited to “Dinner and a Show” on Friday, November 15 at 6:00 pm in the Social Hall. We will be enjoying pizza, popcorn, and the mov-ie Toy Story 4 (rated G). ManUP: ManUP, a men’s Bible study, continues its monthly meetings this Tuesday, November 12, at 6:45 am, in the Jennie Roberts Room. Coffee and pas-tries are served. Intended to help men understand what the Bible says in relation to what is expected of a Christian man, the study this year examines the apostle Peter’s first letter. A copy of the study guide can be obtained at https://www.presbyterianmission.org/wp-content/uploads/firstpeter.pdf or you can request a copy from Bruce Maylath at [email protected]. No advance preparation is required for each month’s study.
