Feb 7th & 8th, 2019: Hon’be CM, Mamata Banerjee, GoWB, hands over token land for setting up of tannery units to 03 nos. new companies from Kolkata, Kanpur and Chennai at the Bengal Global Business Summit, 2019 held at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre, New Town, Rajarhat, Kolkata.
Inauguration of Pilot Scale Bio Gas Plant
Jan 11th, 2019: Director, CSIR-CLRI in the presence of Spl. Secretary, Dept. of MSME & T, GoWB, CLE & CLCTA Officials and oth-ers inaugurates the pilot scale demonstration plant for co-digestion of tannery solid waste for biogas generation.
Land Allocation to large units for setting up of new tannery units
Feb 26th, 2019: Hon’ble MIC, Dr. Amit Mitra, & Hon’ble MIC, Jb. Javed A. Khan, GoWB in the presence of ACS, Sh. Alapan Bandyopadhyay, Dept. of IC&E, MSME & T Dept., GoWB hands over land to 24 nos. large tannery units from Kolkata, Kanpur & Chennai.

The Govt. of West Bengal has
been pleased to provide 6(six) nos.
of fully built “Mahindra Tourister
Excelo”, 25 seater (T25) buses at
a total cost of Rs. 70.8 lakhs
(inclusive of all taxes) for use at
Calcutta Leather Complex (CLC).
The said buses will operate within
the CLC area so that staff
members, workers, labours and
employees working in the CLC
premises can avail use of the said
bus service at a nominal charge.
The aforementioned buses is
expected to be delivered at the
office of the Association shortly and
CEO, CLCTA will receive the vehi-
cles and remain in charge for O&M
of the buses from time to time.
A modus-operandi is currently
being prepared and all members
are requested to contact the CEO,
CLCTA for any further information.
Repairs & Maintenance 1. S. S. plate replaced for the bar screen hydraulic system at Module - I.
2. Replacement of gear wheel ball for primary clarifier rake arm at Module - I.
3. New 20 H.P motor provided at return sludge pump for Module - IV (A).
4 New main switches (FN 160 Amp) installed at the electrical panel of the
equilization blower for Module - I (B).
5. New spare kit of 150 H.P. being installed at aeration blower for Module - III (C).
6. Installation of new electrical panel, ML-12, currently underway.
7. New rotor stator being commissioned for primary sludge pump at Module - III (B).
8. New main switches (FN 400 Amp) installed at the electrical panel of the aeration
blower for Module - IV (C).
9. Rake arm repair and maintenance work currently being undertaken at screw
clarifier for Module - IV.
10. Repair and maintenance work of 7.5 H.P motor currently being undertaken at
the primary sludge pump for Module - I (B).
11. New 1 H.P. motor installed at the rake arm of primary clarifier for Module - IV.
12. Regular paint and maintenance work etc., being conducted at CETP premises
and other areas of CLC for renovating and restructuring the entire plant.
All members are requested
to immediately clear all
outstanding dues of CLCTA
with immediate effect.
Defaulter member units will
be ‘Sealed’. Please contact
the C.E.O., CLCTA to avoid
closure/sealing of units.

Medical Centre at CLC
Medical Centre has catered service to a total number of 470 out patients in the
months of January and February, 2019.
1. Repair work of R.C.C poll is being carried out at Equalization Tank at Module—
III & IV.
2. Painting work, up to Bio Gas plant, of inside and outside boundary wall being
completed within CETP premises.
3. Painting work completed for parking shed no – 01 & 02 within CETP premises.
4. Trolley (125 KVA DG set) fully repaired with fresh paint work completed
successfully.
5. C. C. T. V cable line trench work is in progress.
6. Construction of new well of 1.5 lakh ltr, is in progress at EPS No. - III.
7. Construction of new brick boundary wall in progress at EPS No. - VII.
8. Final outlet drain repaired thoroughly behind the filter press at Module – I & II.
9. Renovation work of “Prayer Room” within the CETP administrative building has
been successfully completed.
10. Renovation of HGS Room, on the first floor at the administrative building, is being
carried out.

Safe Disposal of Hazardous Solid Waste
Around 224.270 MTs of hazardous solid waste from CLC has been safely disposed off
by M/s. Ramky, Kolkata, in the month of January and February, 2019.
