What Is Salvation?

• Salvation is described in many ways in Scripture. Salvation is:

– A release from the bondage of sin (John 8:31,32; Galatians 1:3,4)

– A redemption of the soul leading to eternal life (Ephesians 1:7)

– A reconciliation with God (Colossians 1:19-22)

How Is Our Salvation Made Possible?

• The Bible tells us that our salvation is made possible by the gospel message. (Romans 1:16; I Corinthians 15:1-4)

• The Bible also tells us that our salvation is made possible by grace. (Titus 2:11-14; 3:7)

• The Bible plainly states that our salvation is made possible only through Jesus (Acts 4:12) and the reception of the Word (James 1:21).

• Second, our salvation is secured by way of approaching it with an attitude of fear and trembling. (2:12)

• And third, our salvation is secured by holding fast to the word of life. (2:16; I Corinthians 15:1,2; Colossians 1:23)
