PRODUCT PROFILE

1. UGAM INSULMIX : Product having Thermal insulation, Water proof and

elastomeric properties. It is used for exterior

coating of buildings, terraces, for ovens and

furnaces, freezer vans, mobile houses, and

places requiring thermal insulation and

waterproofing.

2. UGAM FIRE RETARDANT : Product widely being used as fire retardant for

buildings, furniture, electrical appliances,

electrical lines and near flammable area to avoid

fire hazards. It comes in colour shades as well as

clear as per requirement. It is manufactured

strictly in accordance with A S T M standards.

These products come as water base as well as

solvent base for different applications.

3. UGAM HEAT RESISTANT : Products having wide range of heat resistance

ranging from 300, 600, 1200 and 1800 deg

Celsius. All products are being used by major

industries for ovens and furnaces. These are

5. UGAM HEAT AND CHEMICAL RESISTANT: These products are having

heat resistance up to 350 deg Celsius and

chemical resistance to almost all mild chemicals.

Specific chemical resistance can also be

achieved on request.

6. UGAM ELASTOMERIC COATING : It is the product which has 300 percent

elongation at break. It is based on modified

acrylic latex and is useful as coating over

expansion joints. It is also used as water proof

coating for terraces. It has excellent weathering

properties too.

7. UGAM ROAD MARKING PAINT : Cold application road marking paints

with glass beads having excellent light

reflectance, and tough coating based on acrylic

latex. Widely used on highways and for

industrial markings.

8. UGAM WATER REPELLANT : Ready to use water repellant for coating

over painted surfaces, base structures and also

for filling the cavities of concrete surfaces. It

leaking roofs. It is totally colourless and can be

applied as final finish. It can also be applied on

décor stones and decorative brick structures. It

stops almost all absorbing surfaces from

absorbing water and make them water proof.

9. UGAM ACRYLIC SEALANTS : These sealants are widely used as

material for expansion joints of the buildings. It

is used also as crack filler and concrete repair

paste. Since it always maintains its elastic

properties, it does not allow the cracks to open

again even if there is movement between the

surfaces where it is applied. This reduces

development of further cracks and the life of

building or product on which it is applied can be

increased. It also can be applied over terraces to

fill the cracks and make them water proof.

10. UGAM THINNER FOR ENAMELS : Special type of G. P. thinner used for

enamels for thinning down to application

viscosity and to increase the covering up to 20

percent. This reduces the requirement of

enamels (oil base paints) and saves about Rs.

100 per liter.

11. UGAM UNDER BODY COATINGS : P V C base under body coatings are

used by automobile manufacturers for coating

the vehicle bodies from underneath. They are

12. UGAM RED OXIDE METAL PRIMER: High quality anticorrosive primer for

metal. It is being used by major auto and forging

companies for their products.

13. UGAM G. P. PRIMER : It is universal primer for cement, wood,

asbestos etc. it is used prior to the application of

enamel. It seals the surface and makes it ready to

accept final finish.

WATERPROOFING PAINT introduced in the market as UGAM INSULMIX. It has many unique features, listed in short as follows.

o The heating in sunlight is mainly due to radiation. Conduction and convection are secondary which transfer such generated heat.

o Conventional insulating products are designed to prevent conduction and convection.

o Ugam Insulmix is the only product which takes the care of radiation.

o The paint contains Imported Ceramic Microspheres which are used by N A S A for making tiles to cover space shuttles for thermal insulation and which are hollow and having vacuum inside.

o These microspheres reduce the heat generation due to radiation considerably and also help reducing conduction and convection.

o Being ceramic, they are inert and do not take part in any reaction with paint.

o These microspheres are dispersed in water base acrylic latex paint to achieve the weather resistance, total waterproofing effect and getting the elastomeric effect.

o Being elastomeric it takes the care of expansion and contraction of the surface on which it is applied. Also after application of this, any conventional waterproofing is not required to the building.

o Since it is always visible on the top, any damage to it due to drilling, hammering or chipping can be repaired there only.

o Acrylic latex and special type of additives makes the coating very hard to take the wear and tear of the terraces easily.

o It can be applied on Concrete, G. I. Sheets, as well as Asbestos sheets and to the exterior of the building.

o It is mainly suggested for Roofs, Walls, Freezer vans, or any surface needing heat insulation.

o On a bare concrete terrace, it’s application has shown the difference of 20 deg. Celsius checked with infrared thermometer at 2.30pm.

o It is tested by I. I. T. Mumbai. And National Coatings Corporation California, U. S. A.

o If undisturbed it does not need reapplication for about ten years.

o If applied externally to the buildings having central air conditioning the energy costs are reduced by minimum of 15% per month.

o In some cases where the application is done both interior and exterior, 40% saving is achieved. Hence ideal saving can be achieved just by applying Ugam Insulmix paint.

o In cases where heavily leaking roofs were coated with UGAM INSULMIX and the roofs now show no sign of any leaks.

o Also since it can be manufactured in any shade, it is ideal for exterior surfaces as well as smoother version is available for interior use as finish coat.

SPECIALITY : Reduction of electricity cost by upto 40%. Ugam insulmix helps to block transfer of heat inward when applied to exterior of walls and outward when applied to interior of walls. For maximum electricity savings in air conditioned buildings, we recommend doing both!

INTRODUCTION: The introduction of the micro spheres (used in manufacturing of Ugam Insulmix) to the general public is due to research done through the NASA technology exchange program in 1996. This technology is similar to that which is very successfully used to dissipate heat from the space shuttle and other space vehicles upon atmospheric re-entry. These products are carefully blended with little elastomeric type paints for general use of public. It keeps on paying you by virtue of reduced electricity bills.

Ugam Insulmix system.

DescriptionUgam Insulmix is Elastomeric Thermal Insulation and Water proof coating. After curing it forms heat barrier, flexible, and strong film which bridges cracks, prevents peeling, future cracks, growth of algae or fungi. It prevents water seepage and is U. V. resistant.

ApplicationsUgam Insulmix is designed for use on almost all surfaces. Exterior R.C.C. surface, Terraces, Cement surfaces, Asbestos sheets, G.I. sheets, Galvalum sheets, Stone walls, Sloping roofs, wood, plastic, etc.

Advantages.• Gives thermal insulation to surface over which it is applied.• Posses elastomeric effect which bridges existing gaps up to 0.5mm and

prevents further cracking.• Controls thermal expansion and contraction of the surface and prevents

surface movements thereby reducing the possibilities of development of cracks.

• If applied to building having central A/c., electricity bills can be reduced up to 40%.

• Being water proof, stops all minor leakages to terraces and walls permanently.

Directions for use.Proper surface preparation is must for better product performance.

Surface Preparation – Surface should be cleaned properly, removing all loose particles, algae/fungi formations. Ugam Base coat is must for masonry or concrete surfaces. Ugam G P primer should be applied to asbestos surfaces and Ugam Red Oxide should be applied to metal surfaces to ensure maximum adhesion to substrate.

New Masonry- Ugam Insulmix should not be applied to new masonry before minimum 30 days. Clean surface as above. Apply Ugam base coat at the spread rate of 175 to 200 sq. ft. per liter. Allow four hours to dry.

Old Masonry- Clean all loose material and contaminations. Fill existing cracks with Acrylic Sealant and keep for 24 hours. Apply Ugam base coat at the spread rate 175-200 sq. ft. per liter.

Application of Ugam Insulmix – Can be applied with airless spray, brush or roller. Coating can be diluted with water. After thinning with 10 to 20 percent water, first coat should be applied. Allow it to dry for 4 hours and second coat can be applied. Only spread rate should not cross 40 sq. ft. per ltr for two coats. This will ensure thickness of 200 microns.
