We are now in the final rush. We will meet in few weeks for the great feast of palaeontology in Paris. Please read carefully the information below.
FOR SECURITY REASONS
The badge will be requested all along the IPC, on all congress sites (sessions, cocktail, exhibition, dinner, …). Accompanying persons should also wear badge and shouldn’t be present on sites during the ses-sions. Accompanying person who participates in the cocktail and dinner has to be registered and to have paid the fees. Luggage is strictly forbidden on all sites. On Friday, a luggage deposit will be organized.
FOR THE RESPECT OF ALL
The debates should be courteous and respectful. In order to find a balance between embracing social media and protecting authors’ work, we set forth the following guidelines:• Do not photograph or video record a talk or poster without the authors’ express permission.• Never post any images or video without the authors’ permission.• The default assumption is to allow open discussion of IPC5 presentations on social media.• However, please respect any request from an author to not disseminate the contents of their
presentation.• The following icons may be included on slides or posters to express that no result should be
posted on any social media networks or blogs-device settings.

IPC6 HOSTING
Call for proposals, to be submitted to the Council of the International Palaeontological Association by 1st March 2019, to host IPC 6 in 2022. The project could be presented during IPA meeting on Wednesday 10th afternoon.
EDUROAM CONFIGURATION BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL IN FRANCE
Don’t forget to configure your internet connection by EDUROAM before leaving your country. It will be the best way to have internet on the congress sites.
WI-FI will be available in Pierre and Marie Curie Campus of Sorbonne University and National Natural History Museum. The most convenient WI-FI connections require an EDUROAM account. https://www.eduroam.org/You need to configure your computer/device for EDUROAM access: https://cat.eduroam.org/The IPC5 Staff will not provide support regarding EDUROAM Wi-Fi device settings. If your country is not in the EDUROAM network, some login will be given for the Pierre and Marie Curie site.
ENVIRONMENTAL RESPECT
The abstract book will be only on a USB Stick. In order to limit plastic waste, eco-cups will be distributed to each participant. Please use them as much as you can.
LIABILITY - INSURANCE
The Conference organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of, or damage to private property of participants, either during or indirectly arising from the IPC5. Participants are advised to take out their own personal health and travel insurance for their trip.

Cocktail dinatoîre
With the support of the Paleontological Society, on Tuesday 10th, from 06:30 p.m., we invite you to enjoy an amazing entertainment and a typically French buffet during the «cocktail dinatoîre» in the Great Gallery of Evolution in the National Museum of Natural History.
During this party, you will have the opportunity to visit all the Great Gallery of Evolution and the temporary exhibition of Trix, a quite complete female of T. rex discovered in Montana, USA. http://www.mnhn.fr/en/visit/agenda/exposition/t-rex-paris
Gala Dinner
The Gala Dinner will take place on the Seine River on Thursday July, 12th evening.
We will leave from Jardin des Plantes (Quai Saint Bernard) at 07:15 p.m. and have dinner during the trip along the Seine River. The cruise will finish at the Eiffel Tower around 11:30 p.m. You will be free to enjoy night in Paris….The last Metros stop between midnight and 01:00 a.m. The last buses leave around 11:50 p.m. After this time, Paris has special night buses Noctilien with their own itineraries and fewer stops. See the web site rapt.fr with English version.
Fossilmania in the Jardin des Plantes
Around the T. rex exhibition, animations are proposed in the Jardin des Plantes.www.mnhn.fr/en/node/5314
Pedagogic project
From a moulting to an art project.A workshop was organized by the Head of the CR2P (Centre of Research in Palaeobiodiversity and Palaeoenvironments – CNRS-MNHN-SU) and the art teacher of the Learning Centre (Campus des métiers et de l’entreprise) of Bobigny in Seine-Saint-Denis.See the exhibition on the IPC5 Stand.
Illustration Contest
In the frame of the fossil week there will be an exhibition with scientific illustrations of all areas of palaeontology.
The contest comprises two categories of participants:• Professionals: illustrations produced in collaboration with scientists from the international
paleontological community, either for international scientific publications, or for books and public expositions.
• Amateurs: illustrations produced without professional help from the scientific community.
And two themes:• Realistic reconstruction of an organism in its hypothetical (living) aspect, with or without its
palaeoenvironment.• Fossil drawing of an isolated element or composition of fossils (fossilized organisms).
Each participant can submit a single illustration per theme, but he may contribute illustrations to both themes. The illustrations will be submitted between May 17 and June 24, 2018, in digital format at the following e-mail: [email protected]
Voting will take place from July 7 to 12, 2018, and the results will be released on July 13, in the evening closing ceremony, and will subsequently be posted on the Facebook page of the IPC5.
Please read carefully the instructions and the rules: https://ipc5.sciencesconf.org/data/pages/Drawing_contest.pdfParticipation in this competition implies that the participant accepts the terms of these rules without reserve.
