Shaft Alignment ProfilingAssessment of bearing and shaft performance during vessel’s operation at different loading conditions.

•Generationofa3-DFiniteElementModel (FEM)

of the vessel. Conduction of FEM analyses for

calculating hull deformations at different loading

conditions of the vessel (laden, ballast).

• Detailed evaluation of the shaft alignment

plan of the vessel, taking into consideration hull

deformations, bearing foundation stiffness, M/E

thermal expansion and bearing operational char-

acteristics.

•Accuratecalculation of bearing reactions and mis-

alignment angles at different loading conditions

of the vessel. Investigation of conditions with

negative bearing loads and suggestion of correc-

tive actions.
