NC Governor Pat McCrory, NC Commerce Secretary John Skvarla III, and the Economic Development

Partnership of NC announced July 1st that Lidl, one of the fastest growing retailers in

Europe will open a new regional headquarters and distribution center in Alamance

County. The project will create 80 new full-time jobs and 120 hourly positions while

years. Lidl currently operates nearly 10,000 stores in 26 countries throughout Europe.

Their philosophy is focusing on offering customers top quality fresh goods and grocery

made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina

Fund of up to $250,000. The One NC Fund provides financial assistance through local governments to

attract business projects that will stimulate economic activity and create new jobs in the state. Companies

receive no money up front and must meet job creation and investment performance standards to qualify

Commerce, and the Alamance County Economic Development Foundation.

associated with the hiring and training of new

employees. The Director of the Alamance Chamber
