PRACTICAL TEST 1 – Making Mould Frames

Instruction:

o Individually, or in a group, you are required to develop frames

according to lofted plan.

o This will include the related features of frames such as notches,

rabbet, gusset etc.

o You will be given 4 week to complete the task.

The following is the suggestion of steps should be taken for the frame

construction;

i. Copying the frame templates from lofted plan

ii. Cutting frames and their notches

iii. Frame Assembly

iv. Rabbeting

You will be assessed on the following criteria;

o Safety

o Woodworking technique

o Boatbuilding technique

o Finished product

o Timing

o Group contribution
