WOMEN'S RETREAT - To ALL my Wayman sisters: I am hopeful that each of you are giving serious consideration to attending this year’s women’s retreat to be held August 9-11 in Nashville, Tennessee! God has blessed our women’s ministry for the past several years and this year’s retreat will be like none other! I am excited to gather as sisters, travel to Nashville, enjoy each other’s company and experience what God has especially for us. This is the culmination of Women’s Season and your support is extremely important. Make plans now to take off work, get a babysitter or clear your calendar in other ways. The cost of the retreat includes round-trip coach transportation, all workshops and materials, some meals, retreat t-shirt and bag. But the fun, fellowship, and spiritual growth are priceless! If you are absolutely unable to attend, please consider sponsoring someone who might not be able to attend otherwise. Please see Sis. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL: Mark your calendar for Vacation Bible School, July 30-August 3, 2018. The next planning meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17, 2018, 6:00pm in Flanigan Hall. All members who are interested in teaching or assisting are invited to attend the meeting. HOMECOMING AND 185TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION, SEPT. 16: Save the Date! On Sunday, September 16, we will celebrate our Homecoming Sunday at our 10am Worship Service. At 3:30pm, we will celebrate Wayman’s 185th Anniversary with a worship service. Our guest preacher will be Bishop McKinley Young, presiding bishop of the 3 rd
Episcopal District and Senior Bishop of the AME Church. The Dayton Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop will minister in song.
HEALTH CORNERLYME DISEASE
BACKGROUNDLyme disease is caused by a spirochete called Borrelia burgdorferi that is carried by blacklegged ticks (vector) found on deer (reservoir host). The Center for Disease Control (CDC) tells us that more of these ticks are expected this summer due to reforestation and climate change across the country, including Ohio.SYMPTOMSSymptoms can occur within 3 to 30 days after a bite. Ticks must be attached to the human for at least 36-48 hours to transmit disease. If the human removes the tick with 48 hours, he/she probably won’t get the disease.Lyme disease is diagnosed by symptoms which can include chills, fever, headache, muscle and joint pain and swollen lymph nodes. For many infected individuals, the classic red bull’s-eye round rash is one of the first symptoms. Up to 30% of those bitten will not get a rash.TREATMENTLyme disease is treated with antibiotics like doxycycline or others, depending on the patient and upon the physicians’ preferences for a period 2-3 weeks.PREVENTION
Wear socks and pants when you walk in the woods Wear a tick repellent on yourself and clothes that contains DEET,
lemon oil, eucalyptus or permethrin Take a shower immediately after coming inside Remove ticks with tweezers, clean area with 70% rubbing alcohol or
soap and water

TRANSPORTATION
PLEASE COME JOIN US FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL: If you need a ride, call Bro. Damon Woods, 937-304-5575 between 9am and 11am on Saturdays to reserve a seat on the church van.
CHURCH VAN PROCEDURES: Van use request forms must be submitted two weeks prior to the date of the event. A minimum of seven people are required in order to use the van/bus and the van can only be used for Wayman Chapel purposes. Donations for use are accepted. All drivers must successfully complete the required Driver Training Program. Anyone interested in being a driver, please contact Bro. Damon Woods at 304-5575.
FACILITY
KITCHEN REQUEST FORM: Members must fill out a Kitchen Request Form to use the kitchen. The forms are located outside of the treasurer’s office, bottom slot. Turn in the completed form to the church office and a kitchen committee person will call you. If your organization didn’t receive the Kitchen Guidelines, please see Peggy Wynn. Thank You!
DO NOT bring any FOOD or DRINKS into the sanctuary or overflow rooms. Food and beverages damage the carpet, leave unsightly spots, and ultimately ruin the appearance of our sanctuary. We appreciate your cooperation and together we can keep our church looking beautiful. Wayman Board of Trustees.

TITHING MADE PLAINAccording to God’s word, one tenth (10%) of our increase belongs to God and is holy to God. God’s people are to bring 10% of their income to the Lord’s house. The chart below will help you calculate your tithe for this week based on your weekly income.

DISCIPLESHIP SEMINAR REVIEWSECOND PLEDGE: I am church member. I will seek to be a source of unity in my church. I know that there are no perfect pastors, staff, or other church members. But neither am I. I will not be a source of gossip or dissension.
