VISIONThe Watt Family Innovation Center is a driving force for change that enables

Clemson University and its partners to lead in the development of creative solutions to significant technical and social challenges of

the 21st Century.

MISSIONCreate an environment where collaborations

between students, faculty, and industry leaders generate ideas, solve complex problems with high

performance computing networks and virtual global connectivity systems, and develop solutions to take

to marketplace.

WATT Center Role in Industry Partnerships

• Serves a “matchmaker” between industry partner and faculty incolleges

• Manages research projects involving gifts• Enlists industry support for federal grants• Assists in the transition of gifts to sponsored programs managed

by the colleges• Serves as principal investigator or subcontractor on government

contracts

Invites companies to engage talented, creative Clemson undergraduates in industry-relevant projects and in doing so contribute to building the workforce of the future.

• Students collaborate with industry to apply their knowledge and skills to ‘real world’ problems• Honing of skills today for the evolving workforce needs of the future• Industries gain visibility and opportunities to recruit interns or employees• Industry sponsorship is credited as a gift to Clemson

Corporate Creative Inquiry is best suited for open-ended topics that can be addressed through iterative exploration, design, implementation and evaluation cycles.

Provides tools and training to individual students, in all majors, and to classes

Nursing students are second only to Mechanical Engineering students in the number of Makerspace visits – attributed to a Nursing CIproject and incorporation ofMakerspace into NURS 1400

VIRTUAL REALITY – IMMERSIVE SPACEAdvancing Visualization

Serves all disciplines with training and demonstrations for individuals, courses, CI projects, and campus organizations

• Supported by Watt interns and the Virtual Reality Club to:• educate the Clemson University community on the uses of

virtual reality• provide an environment within which to experience virtual

reality• support and explore projects using immersive technologies

including virtual reality, augmented reality, and 360-degreemedia

CYBER SECURITY OPERATIONS CENTER

What We DoHere at the Clemson Cyber Security Operations Center, our uniquely qualified team protects your information from the dangers the web and cyber criminals bring about. We specialize in detecting, monitoring, and fixing issues Clemson University individuals have on a day to day basis. The most important task our team has is to educate individuals on the importance of protecting your information, how to prevent information from being stolen, and awareness of cyber criminals.
