2 Basic safety advice The handling of the appliance technology is only allowed for instructed staff. The exact knowledge of the instruction manual is an important condition for your staff in regard to the handling of the machine. 2.1 Intended use As an operator, you are obliged by deconta to follow the instruction manual and to use this engineered technology equipment only in accordance with the regulations and its suitability! In the event of non-observance, deconta assumes no liability. 2.2 Operation In order to ensure the safety during the operation of the device, the following must be observed:

Do not place in an explosive area. Necessary repairs, maintenance and cleaning, in particular in the field of electrical

equipment may only be realized by qualified staff. The safety and protective equipment has to be treated with care. the indicated safety advices have to be kept in a readable state and have to be

observed In order to ensure safety, any changes to the machine are prohibited. ATTENTION! The Water management is not suitable for the use in condensed, corrosive, flammable and explosive compartment air. The ambient and medium temperature must be between +5 and +50°C. Protect against moisture!

3 Transport 3.1 Delivery Unless agreed otherwise, the lock system is packed completely and securely for transport by deconta. Transport damages have to be documented at once during the handing over of the carrier or another supplier. Please note the possible damages additionally on the way bill. To avoid damages caused by improper handling or carelessness, it is common practice to handle the Transport with care. 3.2 Transport It is to be ensured that the unit is not exposed to impacts and blows, otherwise the function and safety of the unit cannot be guaranteed. In the winter time und at risk of frost the whole unit must be drained before transport. 3.3 Storage In order to avoid damages, the installation has to be kept in a dry area with no access for unauthorized persons. Because of risk of frost in winter it is important to observe the following:

Drain the water pipes and filter housings Drain the water pump trough the drain screw Place the water treatment system in a frost-protected area.

4 Scope of delivery The scope of delivery of the water treatment system, unless no other agreements have been made, consists of:

5 Technical description 5.1 Unit description During asbestos sanitation works within closed rooms, it must be avoided that asbestos fibres leave the sanitation area and pose a threat to human health or the environment. Therefore, persons leaving the area of operation through a lock system, must take a shower before they exit. The deconta Water treatment system heats up the shower water und assumes the task of decontaminating (filtrating) the contaminated sewage water. The powder coated aluminium housing contains the electronic instant flow heater, the waste water pump as well as a 3 stage waste water filtration unit. The hot water outlet temperature of the shower water is infinitely variable with a max. flow rate of 10 liter per minute. Part of the filtration unit is a pre-filter and 2 fine filter. The state of the filter is controlled via a manometer.

5.2 Waste water pump The self-priming waste water pump is installed in the water treatment, ready for operation. It sucks the contaminated shower water through the pre-filter and then pumps it through the two fine filters. While showering one automatic ensures that the pump is started and runs during the entire process. A manual starting is possible with the button "Waste water pump start"

5.3 Version with 2 waste water pumps (Type 529) Optionally, the WM 400 V can be equipped with a second sewage pump. This sucks in parallel with the first sewage pump the contaminated shower water through a separate filter and pumps it then through the two common fine filters. Typical application is a 5-chamber lock with two shower chambers. 5.4 Version with control forced locking (Type 528) The control for the forced locking and forced shower of the deconta-Personnel Lock System is integrated in the Water Treatment System. 5.5 Flow heater The instantaneous water heater is completely controlled electronically and heats the water as it flows. The electronic regulation and control unit detect the water flow, the inlet temperature and the temperature selector at the specified outlet temperature. The microprocessor calculates the required value and turns on the appropriate heat output. When closing the hot water valve, the heater is turned off independently. Essentially the device consists of the heating block, the power module, the electronic module, a safety temperature and pressure limiter and the pressure differential switch.

Heating coils are used as a radiator, which are surrounded by flowing water directly. By this heating mode and with 0.5 litres of very low water content, a high efficiency is ensured. The amount of water is limited by a built-in flow control at a fully open hot water valve to max.10l / min flow rate so that a suitable outlet temperature for the shower (about 40º C) remains. Thanks to the built-in temperature and safety pressure limiter, a double safety shut-off is reached at over pressure and over temperature. The pressure limiter triggers by a rise in pressure to about 22 bars, the temperature limiter triggers at about 55º C in the intake and at about 70º C in hot-water outflow. In response to the pressure or temperature limiter the device is disconnected at once from the mains. Prior to pressing the pushbutton on the safety temperature and pressure limiter again, the cause of the disorder is to be determined and resolved by a qualified person Commissioning after triggering the Safety- temperature- and pressure limiter

1. Switch off main supply. 2. Remove lid of flow heater. Note the slot of the potentiometer. 3. Press the pressure point of the limiter with a screwdriver (see picture) until it snaps

into place. 4. If applicable, insert potentiometer again and place lid on top. 5. Switch on main supply.

7 Initial operation Before the initial operation of the waste water pump or after a long period of stagnation, check that the shaft rotates freely when turned by hand. To this put a screwdriver in the notch of the shaft extension on the fan side and move the shaft. The strong initial rotational resistance of the new pumps will come loose after running.

To avoid damages to the heating coils in the flow heater, the following points must be complied with at initial operation/initial filling: Version without control forced locking (Type 527 and 529):

Establish hose connections as described on previous page Switch off main switch Start water supply and wait until water exits the shower Switch on main switch

Version with control forced locking (Type 528):

Establish hose connections as described on previous page Switch off main switch Move isolator switch flow heater on the inside of the unit to „0“

Switch on main switch Press and keep on pressing button „Shower water Start“ (Button lights up), until

Switching on the forced locking (Type 528) The switch for the forced locking is located outside of the unit.

Connect electric cable to water treatment system and to shower roof of Personnel Lock System.

Be careful to keep both doors closed, the one for the shower room and the one for the Personnel Lock System.

Move key switch to „Test“. The green buttons of the door boxes in the Personnel Lock System light up. Then switch to „Automatic“ after about 5 sec. The forced locking is now activated, the green buttons keep on giving light.

8 Maintenance and care 8.1 Daily care Check free flow of water hoses Visual check of 220µ Pre-filter for soiling Check of fine filter via manometer 8.2 Filter change The state of the fine filter is controlled via manometer. We recommend a filter change at approx. 3bar.

Attention:

Change Filter only when device is switched off Demount dirty filters only in wet shape to avoid contamination Use approved filters only It is prohibited to use damaged filter candles

Filter change:

Loosen the union nut with help of filter head screw Remove filter and dispose of it Insert new filter candles Ensure that the O-ring is positioned correctly and that the sealing surfaces are

clean Tighten the nut hand tight

The suction hoses, pumps, filter housings and filter are contaminated after the first use. Repairs and maintenance must only be executed under the observance of all relevant safety measures. All the filters mentioned have to be disposed of according to the respective legal terms.
