LOCATIONStudy area is located some 65 km in the west of D.G.Khan City.Geographically it has Latitude 30 o00 / N and Longitude 7007 E It is a part of Mithawan torrent having elevation range of 300 m to 2400 m above sea level

CLIMATE, RAINFALL & SOILCLIMATE, RAINFALL & SOIL

Extremely hot & dry conditions and arid characteristics are the climatic features.Mean annual rainfall ranges from 100 to 150 mm in summer, while 100 mm in winter seasons.Soils of the study area varies from loam to sandy loam texture with shallow depths.

maintenance undertaken both by Hajbani and Kaloi sub-tribesWater uses time is priorily fixed among and within the sub-tribes since centuriesWater user can expand the area only within his own allocated timePrivilege of a water user to transfer or not the water rights fully or partially with the transfer or sale of landRights of Riparians and agreements on the disposal of access or unused water

Delimitations of the command area - Dholi- Kothi- Khand

Proportionate distribution of water among the sub-tribes (water turn of 9 days is observed)

Proportionate distribution of water within the sub-tribes and the individuals Procedure of draw for water turn between Hajbanis and the Kaloi Allocated time strictly observed irrespective of watercourse and losses Fixed allocated time of irrigation for particular Mauza i.e. Dholi (2 bails)
