WATER MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS

As mentioned KAYCEE is a leading manufacturer in India of water meters and our group company CMS has widest exposure of system integration & networking. CMS had done various projects on remote solutions using Radio communication, GSM solutions etc.. Further CMS is leading IT Solution Company executing various E- Governance projects. We have put these two technologies together & have indigenously developed Automated Meter Reading [ AMR ] solution. We have complete line of solutions depending on user’s requirements. Here below we will briefly describe you our solutions & their applications. As these solutions are always application based; we will be pleased to discuss with you about specific solution as needed by you or your customer. We can also able to offer mix bag solution using two or three methods of reading.

1. NORMAL WATER METERS – As already mentioned above we have an Exclusive agreement with M/s MINOL / ZENNER to offer & support their entire range of water meters of sizes 15mm –400 mm with EEC mark. Minol manufacturer’s Single jet meters of sizes 15 & 20 mm; Domestic type of multi jet meters from 15 to 50 mm sizes & woltmann type meters from 50 – 400 mm. Also hot meters are available of almost all sizes. Single jet meters can be mounted in any direction mainly used for apartment applications. Multijet meters are dry dial type Class “B” meters meets ISO 4064 Class B specifications. Besides EEC approvals “MINOL” brand has approval in more than 16 leading countries including USA, Russia, china etc… These meters are already tested in FCRI for life cycle.

Bulk range of Woltmann type water meters from MINOL is latest addition after they had taken over M/s ZENNER another leading global Brand in 2005. These meters are available from 50 mm – 400 mm with EEC approvals. These meters are designed for water upto 45° C. All these meters domestic & Woltmann types can be retrofitted with remote monitoring facility which will be done by KAYCEE locally for any kind of remote monitoring of such meter. The bodies of all meters are completely coated with plastic providing tough, durable protection against corrosion and

impacts. Standard bodies are rated for PN 16 (1600kPa). The insert ensures long term, high level of accuracy.

WIRELESS GSM/ GPRS WATER METER SOLUTION In this solution, meter will directly sends its reading thru GSM/ CDMA network. With this technology there is no need of any handheld terminal. The building blocks of this solution are –

1. This pulse output of meter will be connected to Data Scanner. Data scanner is fitted with GSM/ GPRS Modem. This data Scanner is battery powered with Low Batt indication.

2. This data scanner with GSM Modem & external battery will be fitted either in weatherproof cabinet or on the wall if available.

3. At central control Room another GSM/GPRS modem is fitted which pulls the data from each of the individual scanners fitted next to meter.

4. Our Automated Meter Reading Software loaded at central Server will display the reading of all meter on single screen.

5. Further using this software user can exactly analysis water flown during duration & can create specific alarms to warn the users accordingly.

PREPAID WATER METER SOLUTION Further to above mentioned solutions we also have prepaid solution for water management. The basic construction of this water meter is similar to normal water meter. However it has additional integrated solenoid valve enabling cut off of water flow in case prepaid amount is exhausted. Continuously water flown thru the meter is monitored with prepaid quantity. Each meter is fitted with Intelligent CARD Reader. This card will be refilled by customer depending on his usage requirement at filling point. This loaded card once inserted into meter equal amount of water will be credited into meter. Before Water credit is exhausted optical alarm will be generated by meter to inform user about revalidation. If it is not refilled once credit limit expires; inbuilt solenoid valve of meter will operates and disconnects the flow. Only after your meter is refilled water flow will be restored. Electronic card allotted with each meter is used to refill the water at Billing Station. This card can be refilled depending on water usage. In this concept water meter are presently available for 15, 20 & 25 mm sizes only for both cold & Hot waters. Typical prepaid meter looks as

A benefit of this system is that there is no need of any billing system or payment collection hassles. However the only drawback is that; these meters has to be installed internally or mounted in close environment to avoid any dust particles entering card slot as it may damage Card Reading electronics. Hence we recommend to have exclusive meter box made up of fiberglass to protect it against water slippages & dust.

RS485 WIRED AMR WATER METER SOLUTION This Automated Meter Reading [ AMR ] System is an intelligent automatic meter reading and calculating system where each meter will be continuously monitored enabling water audit & ensuring correct utilization of water effectively. LOCAL INTERFACE MODULE - This is an interface between Water meter & Central Server via RS 485 communication. Input to this module is pulsed output of water meter & output is RS 485 communication. Each water meter will be fitted with this Interface module. To avoid noise pickups this module has to be fitted close to the meter but needs to be protected from water slippages & leakages. Each module is powered by mains 230 VAC with battery backup. The electronic inside each module measures pulses received from meter & stores in its memory. On request by data server, the latest reading is transmitted via RS 485 data to Data Server. Counting of pulses & communication are independent activities; hence even in case there is breakage in RS 485 communication; data collection from meter will not be affected ensuring correct reading Always. DIGITAL SCANNER / LOGGER - If meters to be monitored are higher & close by; instead of individual modules we suggest to go for scanner or logger. Either Eight or Sixteen water meters can be connected to this single scanner who will scan each meter & transfers its reading to your server. To avoid noise pickups this module has to be fitted close to the meter but needs to be protected from water slippages & leakages. This scanner is powered by mains 230 VAC with battery backup to retain last reading of water meter. The electronic inside each module measures pulses received from meter & stores in its memory. On request by data server, the latest reading is transmitted via RS 485 data to Data Server. Counting of pulses & communication are independent activities; hence even in case there is breakage in RS 485 communication; data collection from meter will not be affected ensuring correct reading Always. Being power driven Electronic module it has to be mounted suitably either on wall or on special stand so that water will not go inside. This protection as needed at site is needs to be provided by Customer as it is site dependent. It is also recommended to protect these modules against direct heat. However it has to be close to water meter so that no noise pickup. The basic difference between scanner & logger is just internal memory. Scanner has no local memory whereas logger has internal memory to locally store meter reading.

AUTOMATED METER READING SOFTWARE.

For wired reading at central work station you will be installed with our AMR [ Automated Meter Reading ] software with billing Module for creating billing if needed.

This software reads the data via RS 485 to RS 232 converter. Each meter will be pooled as per scanning duration. Using special screens user can easily monitor its value & analyse it. Typical software screenshots are shown below; however they will be customized depending on exact application. Here below is Channel Navigator Screen showing live data of each meter with its location ID. User can also set any specific Alarm Level depending on application. Even colour of reading can also be adjusted.

Further even you can witness this data using graphical pictorial format as shown below. This enables user to exactly monitor complete Water Network at one stroke & can identify localized reading. Further this also enables user to find out UFW [ Unaccounted Flow of Water ] as complete network flow can be continuously monitored.

Besides pictorial indication our software can also give you data in various graphical ways like Pie chart, or in normal graphical format as shown below. Same data can be transferred to EXCEL for further analysis or to any other software for billing application. Statistical Reports like daily report, monthly report, annual report, individual meter reports can also be generated as per customer’s requirement.

This software can be fitted with additional billing software for creating bills as per your request. Hardware Any standard Work station with 2GB RAM, hard disk should be 80 GB or above; Two Serial Port, one parallel port and one network port.

However unlike Energy meters when their is Power Outage even for few minutes; Water, Gas will flow during that time & will be unaccounted. Further if we are only monitoring Water; then surely at most of locations energy points are not available. Hence we have solutions using Wireless Monitoring using RADIO [ 433 MHz, Gigahertz]; Infra Red monitoring or via latest GSM/ GPRS Technique. Further considering typical application we can also devise solutions with combination of Wired & Wireless solutions as we have technology for all types. Also in case required we can offer solutions using PREPAID ENERGY; WATER or GAS METERS. Considering such widest varieties of solutions as mentioned in above we feel; we could one of very few companies in world who can offer such a widest INHOUSE SOLUTIONS of complete automation solutions for widest range of Utility metering. 1. Wired Connectivity Water Meter Solution – Installing wired solution for ITC, Grand & at TAJ President Mumbai. Another order from leading builder & other leading hotel group from Mumbai is expected shortly

2. Remote LCD display Water Meter is already installed by us at KINFRA; Cochin. Performance Certificate can be provided.

3. PREPAID ENERGY METER…. We have installed FIRST EVER prepaid Energy meters in India in 2003 @ KINFRA, Cochin. These meters are installed with GSM communication to refill meter remotely. If customer’s prepaid amount is exhausted it will automatically cut off the supply. For refilling customer has to pay centrally & automatically thru GSM communication meter will be refilled & supply can be restored.

4. PSTN Based communication – We have successfully installed Telephonic line [ PSTN ] based control system at MSEB, Nagpur. Refer Appendix – 2

5. GSM Based Traffic Messages – For Mumbai Police, we are centrally controlling

display for traffic management remotely. We also have executed various such projects at Malaysia, South Africa etc…

6. RADIO Based Communication - We have installed RADIO based control &

communication modules for Energy Meters at Goa Energy Ltd., Goa India in 2004.

7. Handheld Terminals – As parking solution we have provided numerous

handheld terminals with inbuilt printers for on spot billing for parking. Same data can be loaded to central computer once it is docked to PC Station.
