• The construction and operation of the built environment consumes 60% of all materials, results in 33% of all waste and accounts for 45% of CO2eq emissions in the UK.
• Tackling the impacts associated with buildings and infrastructure - from design through in-use to demolition - is critical for meeting UK government's 2050 greenhouse gas targets.
• In 2010 for every 5 new houses built, 1 house worth of waste was created.

• UK Wood Recycling Network diverted 8,500 tonnes wood
from waste stream in 2012.
• Brighton Wood Store handles 450 tonnes wood each year.
387,495 litres paint donated and 218,000 litres redistributed in 2012
