FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
admission.wsu.edu
WASHINGTON STATE UNIVERSITY
Meet KEVIN SCHILLINGClass of 2017 | History | Burien, WA
After graduating high school, Kevin spent five months in Nepal
and India working for a nonprofit. He attended Evergreen State
College for a year. Then he managed a legislative campaign for
a state representative and interned for the governor. Wanting
to get into public service, Kevin transferred to WSU in search
of new academic challenges and leadership opportunities. He
served in student government, completed several on-campus
internships, and volunteered in his community. After graduating
from WSU, he earned a master's degree at Columbia University
in New York City. Now he's back in his fast-growing hometown
of Burien, WA, where he's running for a seat on the city council.
“I tell people that if they want to transfer, they should
absolutely come to WSU because people here will push
and challenge them to be better, to strive, to persevere,
through thick and thin.”

UNIVERSITY WRITING PORTFOLIOwritingprogram.wsu.edu/university-writing-portfolio

JOBS AND WORK-STUDY
Working while you attend WSU is very doable. There are hundreds of student-friendly jobs in the Pullman area, both on campus and off.
Work-study eligibility is determined by the FAFSA. Jobs are usually located on campus. Work-study earnings directly reduce the amount of student loans—so you can graduate with significantly less debt (or maybe none!).
