About theWarrnambool China Bureau The Warrnambool China Bureau is an initiative of Warrnambool City Council’s Economic Development and Investment Unit in conjunction with Asialink Business.

The Warrnambool China Bureau aims to provide strategic and operational support that enables organisations and business within the Great South Coast region to navigate China’s complex challenges and rapidly changing business environment.It will provide access to specialist resources to deliver integrated business support to suit the needs of businesses both big and small.

Resources utilised for the service are respected experts in their respective functions, sectors and locations. To support local business the Bureau will draw on their knowledge and connections, and combine them with our project management and strategic inputs, to provide a uniquely strong and flexible service for our clients.

Asialink Business is Australia’s National Centre for Asia Capability. It provides tailored solutions to help businesses seize the potential of diverse Asian markets. Asialink Business equips organisations in all sectors to become Asia capable by developing the critical skills, knowledge and networks needed to engage with the complexities of the region.

Subsidised office space at a partner location in China. A project manager to assist businesses with translation and monthly in-market meetings (including summary of meeting notes, actions and commercial insights).

Coordination of translation requests including proofing of presentations, product sheets or technical documents.

China market insights and commercial guidance.

Screening of potential clients/partners identified by WCC or local companies:• We will conduct high level diligence through desktop research and initial phone call/s, providing company names,

business registration details, and conducting an initial assessment of the company’s profile. • Physical inspection of potential customers/partners through site visits and assessment of physical presence.

Warrnambool China Bureau Key Project Information 1. Local companies or individuals need to provide six weeks’ notice in advance of any in-market meetings.2. Geographic locations for in-market meetings or site visits are limited to major east coast cities, including Beijing,

Qingdao, Shenyang, Hangzhou, Ningbo, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Nanjing, Changchun, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Guangzhou. Travel to any other regions in China will be reviewed, assessed and approved on a case by case basis.

3. The amount of time allocated to each in-market meeting/site visit is no more than two hours.4. Translations are charged on a per word basis and additional costs incurred will be charged to company/individuals

reimbursement. Quotations will be provided prior to confirmation.5. The high-level due diligence of partners/clients will include a maximum of two hours per potential client/partner.6. Any travel and incidental costs are to be covered by company/individuals, and reimbursed at cost. We will provide

estimates of these costs in advance.7. Screening and background checks will require timeframes of 4 - 6 weeks to be completed and any travel expenses

incurred will be covered by the business using the service. Questions will be provided prior to confirmation.
