Your assignment is to create a product that will inform people about your community and encourage them

to live in your society.

and logo for your community. Make sure it is catchy and appealing

2 – Government – Have a section that describes the type of government in

your society and include how the government officials are chosen

The Giver

Jonas’s world is perfect. Everything is under control. There is no war or fear or pain. There are no choices. Writing Activity

• Describe something like you are seeing it for the very first time. Use your five senses to describe what you see, hear, feel, touch, and smell.

• It can be about ANYTHING so use your imagination!!!!!

Chapters 10-12–How do you feel about the idea of

Sameness?

• Do you think that it could work in our world today?

–How do you think you would react to seeing color for the first time?

– How do you think you would feel if you didn’t know what snow was and was first introduced to it?

– What do you think about the idea of genetic scientists making everyone the same?

– Do these chapters bring on any new questions or predictions of what is to come?

Research Activity• Jonas’s Community talks a lot about Sameness.

In order to achieve this, there had to be some form of Survival of the Fittest.

• Do a little bit of research to find out what Survival of the Fittest is.– Do you think that this is what was used to

create Sameness?– Do you think that this would work in society

today?– What, if any, problems do you see with this

thought plan?
