MEDIA RELEASE WANDERERS TEEN STAR & KEY MATILDAS COACH MAKING COMMUNITY APPEARANCE AT SOCCER CAMP SYDNEY, June 30 - Fresh from the Matildas’ inspiring FIFA Womens World Cup campaign in Canada, assistant coach Ante Juric will make a community appearance at Sports Camps Australia’s Junior Soccer camp Sydney Olympic Park tomorrow. And rising A-League star, Western Sydney Wanderers’ Alusine Fofanah, will make guest coaching appearances at Sports Camps Australia’s school holiday soccer camps, including Sydney Olympic Park and Earlwood in Sydney’s inner west. Alusine, 17, has a remarkable story to tell. Born in Sierra Leone and settling in Australia after arriving as a child refugee, he already has a reputation as an on-field high achiever. He trialled with the u-18 side at the English Premier League’s Manchester City, scoring six goals in two games, before being forced to return home due to visa issues. The Wanderers signed him and he’s now among the most exciting prospects in the A-League, regularly representing his club in its packed schedule of community appearances including recent Africa Day celebrations. Tim Cahill Academy senior coach Peter Kofinas will lead a team of experienced coaches at Sydney Olympic Park, part of SCA’s exceptional roster of coaching personnel, which also includes the original host of SBS TV’s ‘Captain Socceroo’, John Doyle and former Socceroo captain Paul Wade.

About Alusine Fofanah - Guest Coach (Syd, Illawarra); Midfielder, Western Sydney Wanderers

Born in Sierra Leone, Alusine moved to Australia as a child refugee and began playing football for

Marconi Stallions. At only 14, the midfielder trialled with Manchester City’s U-18 team, scoring six

goals in two matches before returning home due to visa issues. Western Sydney Wanderers signed

him for the Foxtel National Youth League 2013/14 season and he scored his first NYL goal against

Central Coast Mariners and made his 2014/15 A-League debut in Round 15 against Adelaide United.
