Walnut Slice
SERVES 4-6
Ingredients 1 cup red lentils 1 cup walnuts – chopped ½ cup rolled oats 8 dates – chopped 13 cup unsweetened apple sauce ¼ cup coconut oil – melted ¼ cup pure maple syrup 1 tbl cacao powder
1 tsp vanilla essence 1 tsp baking powder
Instructions Line a square baking dish with baking paper. Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. In a container add lentils plus 1 cup boiling water. Place lid on top and let the lentils soak for 20 minutes. Place lentils along with everything else (except the walnuts) into a bowl, mix together. Pour mixture into baking dish, top mixture with the walnuts and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
