application that allows people to express their thoughts on a common topic easily.”◦ Cite: http://wallwisher.comn

Page 3: Wallwisher

How to begin…Click on the link under “build a

wall” called “it’s the next fastest thing to light.

You can sign in using any email or with your Google account.

The Google accounts allow users to access external services more easily. It helps one to minimize the amount of accounts and user names that one has to use!

Page 4: Wallwisher

Privacy NoteThe makers of the site confirm that

your information will be safe because your passwords will not be used on their machines..

If you choose not to review every post (recommended for teachers though) then it is recommended that one periodically check their wall to make sure no bad posts are posted

Page 5: Wallwisher

How to begin continued…After entering in your email address, create

a title and select a picture in which you would like to show in the upper left hand corner

Then, you can select a specific url, if you would like to make it more specific.

I would recommend that you create a specific url because if you do not then the site will assign it a longer, more complicated one.

settingsThese include:

◦ who can view the wall◦ who can post sticky notes◦ and whether or not you will have to

approve the posts to the wall.

wall and access them every time you log in.

You can look at your different walls by clicking on your name in the upper right hand corner and then by going to “My Home”

Common Questions…When I move stickies, some are moved

permanently while some are not. Why so?◦The creator of the site can permanently

move the sticky notes ◦The creator of the sticky note can also move

his or her own note, but not others◦While in a session on someone else’s wall,

one may move the sticky notes, but not permanently in order to protect each person’s comment.

Page 11: Wallwisher

Common Questions… Why the 160 character limit on text? People want to get their message

across fast and easy, so the creators used the same amount of characters that a standard SMS on a cell phone is.

Users can always use more than one post if necessary, but it’s a great way for students learn how to write efficiently.
