Installation Of The Indoor Unit
The indoor unit must be installed in such a way so as to prevent short circuit of the cool discharged air with the hot return air. Please follow the installation clearance shown in the figure. Do not place the indoor unit where there could be direct sunlight shining on it. Also, this location must be suitable for piping and drainage, and be away from doors or windows.
The refrigerant piping can be routed to the unit in a number of ways (left or right from the back of the unit), by using the cut-out holes on the casing of the unit (see figure). Bend the pipes carefully to the required position in order to align it with the holes. For the side and bottom out, hold the bottom of the piping and then position it to the required direction (see figure). The condensation drain hose can be taped to the pipes.

Piping Works And Flaring Technique• Do not use contaminated or damaged copper
tubing. If any piping, evaporator or condenser had been exposed or had been opened for 15 seconds or more, the system must be vacuumed. Generally do not remove plastic, rubber plugs and brass nuts from the valves, fittings, tubing and coils until it is ready to connect suction or liquid line into valves or fittings.
• If any brazing work is required, ensure that nitrogen gas is passed through coil and joints while the brazing work is being done. This will eliminate soot formation on the inside wall of copper tubings.
• Cut the pipe stages by stages, advancing the blade of pipe cutter slowly. Extra force and a deep cut will cause more distortion of pipe and therefore extra burr. See Figure A.
• Remove burrs from cut edges of the pipes with remover. See Figure B. Hold the pipe on top position and burr remover at lower position to prevent metal chips from entering the pipe. This will avoid unevenness on the flare faces which will cause gas leak.
• Insert the flare nuts, mounted on the connection parts of both the indoor unit and outdoor unit, into the copper pipes.
• The exact length of pipe protruding from the top surface of the swaging block is determined by the flaring tool. See Figure C.
• Fix the pipe firmly on the swaging block. Match the centers of both the swaging block and the flaring punch, then tighten the flaring punch fully.
Piping Connection To The Units• Align the center of the piping and tighten the
flare nut sufficiently with fingers. See Figure D.• Finally, tighten the flare nut with torque wrench
until the wrench clicks.• When tightening the flare nut with the torque
wrench, ensure that the tightening direction follows the arrow indicated on the wrench.
• The refrigerant pipe connection are insulated by closed cell polyurethane.

Vacuuming And Charging
Vacuuming The Piping And The Indoor UnitExcept for the outdoor unit which is pre-charged with refrigerant, the indoor unit and the refriger-ant connection pipes must be air-purged because the air containing moisture that remains in the refrigerant cycle may cause malfunction of the compressor.• Remove the caps from the valve and the
service port.• Connect the center of the charging gauge to
the vacuum pump.• Connect the charging gauge to the service port
of the 2-way valve.• Start the vacuum pump. Evacuate for approxi-
mately 30 minuted. The evacuation time varies with different vacuum pump capacity. Confirm that the charging gauge needle has moved towards - 760mmHg.
Caution• If the gauge needle does not move to
-760mmHg, be sure to check for gas leaks (using the refrigerant detector) at fl are type connection of the indoor and outdoor unit and repair the leak before proceeding to the next step.
• Close the valve of the changing gauge and stop the vacuum pump.
• On the outdoor unit, open the suction valve (3 way) and liquid valve (2 way) (in anti-clockwise
direction) with 4mm key for hexagon sacked screw.
Charge OperationThis operation must be done by using a gas cylinder and a precise weighing machine. The additional charge is topped-up into the outdoor unit using the suction valve via the service port.
• Remove the service port cap.• Connect the low pressure side of the charging
gauge to the suction service port center of the cylinder tank and close the high pressure side of the gauge. Purge the air from the service hose.
• Start the air conditioner unit.
• Open the gas cylinder and low pressure charging valve.
• When the required refrigerant quantity is pumped into the unit, close the low pressure side and the gas cylinder valve.
• Disconnect the service hose from service port. Put back the service port cap.

Air Conditioner Unit Operation
In COOL, DRY and FAN mode
When stopoperation
Upper limit 55˚
Lower limit 85˚
Dry Mode• When the air humidity is high, the unit can operate in dry mode. Press <MODE> button and choose <DRY>.• If the room temperature is 2°C/3.6°F higher than the set temperature, the air conditioner will operate
under cooling mode until it reaches within the 2°C/3.6°F range of difference compared to the set temperature before it converts to dry mode.
• If the room temperature is within the 2°C/3.6°F range of difference compared to the set temperature, it will directly operate under dry mode.
• The unit will operate at LOW speed under dry mode.
Air Flow Control• For more effective air circulation, you can manually adjust the air discharge grille to the left or right.• During cool mode operation and dry mode operation, do not direct the air discharge louver down-
wards for too long. If operating continues in this way, condensation may occur on the louver, thus resulting indrippings.
Frost Prevention• When the air filter is dirty, the evaporating temperature will decrease and eventually cause frosting.• If the evaporating temperature reaches -1°C/33.8°F, the unit will trip.
Fan Speed And Rated Cooling Capacity• The rated cooling capacity is provided at the high fan speed.• The cooling capacity is lower when the unit is operating at MEDIUM and LOW fan speed.
Notes On Flaps And Louvers Angles• When “SWING button” is selected, the flaps swinging range depends on the operation mode. (See the figure.)
ATTENTION• Always use a remote controller to adjust the flaps angle. If you attempt to move it forcibly with hand
when it is swinging, the mechanism may be broken.• Be careful when adjusting the louvers. Inside the air outlet, a fan is rotating at a high speed.
Auto Random Re-start FunctionIf there is a power cut when the unit is operating, it will automatically resume the same operating mode when the power is restored.

Special Precautions When Dealing With Refrigerant R410A Unit
(1) What is New Refrigerant R410A?R410A is a new HFC refrigerant which does not damage the ozone layer. The working pressure of this new refrigerant is 1.6 times higher than conventional refrigerant (R22), thus proper installation / servicing is essential.
(2) ComponentsMixture weight composition R32(50%) and R125(50%)
(3) Characteristic• R410A liquid and vapour components have different compositions when the fluid
evaporates of condenses. Hence, when leak occurs and only vapor leaks out, the composition of the refrigerang mixture left in the system will change and subsequently affect the system performance. DO NOT add new refrigerant to leaked system. It is recommended that the system should be evacuated thoroughly before recharging with R410A.
• When refrigerant R410A is used, the composition will differ depending on whether it is in gaseous or liquid phase. Hence when charging R410A, ensure that only liquid is being withdrawn from the cylinder or can. This is to make certain that only original composition of R410A is being charged into the system.
• PVE oil is used as lubricant for R410A compressor, which is different from the mineral oil used for R22 compressor. Extra precaution must be taken not to expose the R410A system too long to moist air.
(4) Check List Before Installation / Servicing• Tubing
Refrigerant R410A is more easily affected by dust of moisture compared with R22, make sure to temporarily cover the ends of the tubing prior to installation.
• Compressor oilNo additional charge of compressor oil is permitted.
• RefrigerantNo other refrigerant other that R410A
• Tools (size of service port is different from R22 system)Tools specifically for R410A only (must not be used for R22 or other refrigerant)i) Gauge manifold and charging hoseii) Gas leak detectoriii) Refrigerant cylinder/charging cylinderiv) Vacuum pump c/w adapterv) Flare toolsvi) Refrigerant recovery machine
(5) Handling and Installation GuildelinesLike R22 system, the handling and installation of R410A system are closely similar. All precautionary measures; such as ensuring no moisture, no dirt or chips in the system, clean brazing using nitrogen, and thorough leak check and vacuuming are equally important requirements. However, due to it hydroscopic PVE oil, additional precautions must be taken to ensure optimum and trouble free system operation.
(a) During installation or servicing, avoid prolong exposure of the internal part of the refrigerant system to moist air. Residual PVE oil in the piping and components can absorb moisture from the air.
(b) Ensure that the compressor is not exposed to open air for more than the recommended time specified by its manufacturer (typically less than 10 minutes). Removed the seal plugs only when the compressor is about to be brazed.
(c) The system should be thoroughly vacuumed to 1.0 Pa (700mmHg) or lower. This vacuuming level is more stringent than R22 system so as to ensure no incompressible gas and moisture in the system.
Downloaded from www.Manualslib.com manuals search engine
32
TM-F
T-04
15-B
(d) When charging R410A, ensure that only liquid is being withdrawn from the cylinder or can. This isto ensure that only the original composition of R410A is being delivered into the system. The liquid composition can be different from the vapour composition.
(e) Normally, the R410A cylinder or can is being equipped with a dip pipe for liquid withdrawal. However, if the dip pipe is not available, invert the cylinder or can so as to withdraw liquid from the valve at the bottom.

Caution!
Under normal circumstances, these outdoor units only require a check and cleaning of air intake coil surface once every 3 months. However, if a unit is installed in areas subjected to much oil mist and dust, the coils must be regularly cleaned by qualified Air Conditioner Service Technicians to ensure sufficient heat exchange and proper operation. Otherwise, the systems life span may be shortened.
Do not charge OXYGEN, ACETYLENE OR OTHER FLAMMABLE and poisonous gases into the unit when performing a leakage test or an airtight test. These gases could cause severe explosion and damage if exposed to high temperature and pressure. It is recommended that only nitrogen or refrigerant be charged when performing the leakage or airtight test.
Pre Start Up Maintenance(After Extended Shutdown)
• Inspect thoroughly and clean indoor and outdoor units.• Clean or replace air filters.• Clean condensates drainline.• Clean clogged indoor and outdoor coils.• Check fan imbalance before operation.• Tighten all wiring connections and panels.• Check for refrigerant leakage.
The design of the outdoor series allows servicing to be carried out easily. The removal of the top, front and side panels makes almost every part accessible.

snoitca evitcerroc / sesuac elbissoP snoitidnoc tluaF oN
1 The air conditioner unit will not resume after power failure.
• The auto restart function is not functioning. Please turn on the unit with the wireless / wired controller.
2 The compressor does not operate 3 minutes after the air conditioner unit is started.
• Protection against frequent starting. • Wait for 3 or 4 minutes for the compressor to start
operating by it self.
3 The airflow is too slow or room cannot be cooled sufficiently.
• The air filter is dirty. • The doors and windows are opened. • The air suction and discharge of both indoor and
outdoor units are clogged or blocked. • The regulated temperature or temperature setting
is not low enough.
4 Discharge airflow has bad odor. • Cigarettes, smoke particles, perfume and others, which might have adhered onto the coil, may cause odor.
• Contact your nearest dealer.
5 Condensation on the front air grille of the indoor unit.
• This is caused by air humidity after an extended period of operation.
• The set temperature is too low. Increase the temperature setting and operate the unit at high fan speed.
6 Water flowing out from the air conditioner. • Switch off the unit and contact your nearest dealer. This might be due to tilted installation.
7 Hissing airflow sound from the air conditioner unit during operation.
• Liquid refrigerant flowing into the evaporator coil.
8 The wireless controller display is dim. • The batteries are discharged. • The batteries are not correctly inserted. • The assembly is not good.
9 Compressor operates continuously. • Dirty air filter. Clean the air filter. • Temperature setting too low (cooling). Use higher
temperature setting.
10 No cool air comes out during cooling cycle. • Temperature setting too high (cooling). Use lower temperature setting.
