Objectives:

provide a free flow of traffic along designated areas in the campus before the start of classes, during break and dismissal times, and in between periods;

make sure that students and adult personnel are safe and secure when going to the different places in the campus

This is to avoid bags scattered along the Walk Zone Areas.

No Overtaking You are reminded to stay in your line

when buying food, and to avoid accidents by sudden and unexpected movement to catch up to something or someone

Slow Down You are encouraged to be more

careful in walking because the area may be prone to accidents (staircase, canteen area, etc)

Quiet Zone You are encouraged not to

make any noise that may disturb the people inside offices and workroom areas

OFF Limits Generally seen on areas

where GS students are prohibited to explore (e.g. HS area)

Consequences if not followed reminders will be given by the teachers

concerned student (when seen running by the teacher) will be asked to go back from where he started (or from where he is sighted) and will be told to walk from there to the place of destination

Why do we have to show respect to these symbols? These symbols

speak of our history and culture

help us remember the legacy of our forefathers

bring pride to our person and a sense of belonging

How should we show respect to these symbols?

Upon the announcement of national anthem… stand properly place your right hand over your left chest face the flag remain standing with your right hand over your left chest until the

completion of the anthem once the anthem is complete, quietly return to your normal position

How should we show respect to these symbols?

Upon the announcement of national anthem… face the music if the flag is not displayed and act in

the same manner as if it were displayed if you are walking or otherwise moving when the

anthem begins or hear the beginning of the anthem, stop and stand still until it ends

Upon the announcement of flag retreat… stand properly face the flag or music (if the flag is not visible) remain standing until the completion of the song or rite once the song or rite is complete, quietly return to your

normal position

Upon the announcement of Panatang Makabayan (Patriotic Oath) face the flag and stand properly raise your right hand (as much as possible shoulder level and

palm flatly opened) remain in this position until the completion of the recitation of

Panatang Makabayan, and quietly return to normal position after

Upon the announcement of the singing of the school song… stand properly face the flag remain standing until the completion of the school song once the school song is complete, quietly return to your

normal position

How should you show respect to these symbols if you are a foreigner?

For the singing of the national anthem and school song, reciting of the patriotic oath and participating in flag retreat stand properly face the flag (national or school) / music remain standing until the completion of the national anthem (for the

school song you have the duty to sing it), rite, oath once the song/rite is complete, quietly return to your normal posit

Take the Walk and Respect for Symbols Pledge

We, the students of Grade ___ section ___ pledge to follow the WALKING ZONE POLICY of Xavier School as one way to ensure our safety and that of our fellow

Xaverians in the campus.

We also pledge to serve as good examples to our fellow students in showing respect to our national and school symbols as a sign of being a true Xaverian and Filipino.
