From Ken….
“Passion of the Heart” Video Series begins…. The video series by Louie Giglio will start this Sunday night at 5:30 pm in the sanctuary. Video #1 is entitled Indescribable. This video takes us on an image rich journey through the cosmos, allowing us to peer into God’s universe to discover the amazing magnitude of His greatness and grace. You will absolutely enjoy this video and you will be chal-lenged to see God’s greatness in a whole new way. After a break we will begin the evening worship service as usual. During the sermon time we will conduct a talk-back discussion of the video. I look forward to this. It should be exciting.
Week 2 – February 14 – How Great is our God. This incredible video discusses God’s creative abil-
ity to breathe out the stars and intricate enough to fashion together the trillions of cells that make up every facet of who we are.
Week 3 – February 21 - When Life Hurts Most – The Anchor of Hope.
Week 4 – February 28 - When Life Hurts Most – The Megaphone of Hope.
Week 5 – TBA - The Heart of Passion: Fruitcake and Ice Cream.
Walk Through The Bible – Old Testament Seminar…. I want to continue to urge each one to register for this unique interactive seminar in which you will be learn the line of progress that leads through the entire Old Testament. You will remember it because you will live it. The seminar will be held at Rocky Knoll Baptist Church. There are two seminars, one for youth and adults and one for children (grades 1-5). Both will be excellent. Cost is $17 for youth and adults and $15 for children. We have put a cap of $50 per family. Please register soon and pay either in advance to receive your discount.
Ken’s Korner - Ken Reid, Pastor
A cake…..a beautiful way to look at life! Sometimes don’t we wonder, “What did I do to deserve this?”
or “Why did God have to do this to me?” Following is a God-sent explanation.
A little boy is telling his Grandmother how everything is going wrong - school, family problems, health
problems, etc. Meanwhile, Grandmother is baking a cake. She asks him if he would like a snack, which of
course, he does. “Here, have some cooking oil” “Yuke!” says the little boy. “How about a few raw eggs?”
“Gross, Grandmother!” “Would you like some flour then? Or maybe some baking soda?” “Grandmother, all those
are yucky!” To which Grandmother replies, “Yes, all those things seem bad by themselves. But when they are
put together in the right way, they make a wonderfully delicious cake!”
God works in much the same way! Many times we wonder why He would let us go through such bad and
difficult times. But God knows when He puts these things all in His order, they always work for good! We just
have to trust Him and eventually, they will all make something wonderful! God is crazy about you! He sends you
flowers every spring and a sunrise every morning! Whenever you want to talk, He’ll listen. He can live anywhere
in the universe, yet he chose your heart. Make your day today a “Piece Of Cake”!
