Should you still hope for something? Remember some of the things Jesus said when he was alive..

“For just as Jonah was three days and three nights in the belly of the great fish, so will the Son of Man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.”

1. Write out one of the quotes. Explain why it means you should still hope.

2. What might make the disciples think it could come true?

**When you hear about someone who has died, what might make you think there is hope for them?

Mark 10:34

“And they will mock him and spit on him, and flog him and kill him. And after three days he will rise.”

Mark 8:31“Then He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, be killed, and rise after three days.”

Matthew 12:40

Jesus descended to the realm of the dead as Saviour, to free those who had died, and were waiting for him. First, Adam and Eve. This is what the Church thinks about on Holy Saturday.

Christ went down into the depths of death so that "the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live.“ Jn 5:25

The last part of Jesus’ mission: “He descended into hell”

1. Draw Jesus going down to the dead, on the broken gates of hell.

2. Title your drawingn “Holy Saturday”3. Speech bubble what he says to the

dead spirits, who were waiting for him.
