Our students explored various aspects of the ocean – creatures such as whales, sharks, octopus, turtles and dolphins. This is relevant to our promise in our Acknowledgement of Country ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY Wairoa School would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land. We all travel to the land of the saltwater people, the Bidjigal people of the Eora nation. Coming from many places to meet and connect on our individual journey of learning, we celebrate the opportunities to swim, to garden, to cook, and to make music and art. Our school is respectful of the trees, sand, ocean, and sky. We enjoy sharing this land with the fish, birds, and other creatures of Bondi Beach. Everyday we welcome and pay our respects to the elders past, present, and future and extend our respect to other Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Our promise is to care for the land so that it may continue to be enjoyed for years to come. Positive Behaviour for Learning

Be a Learner LOOK LISTEN and DO

During term 3 the expectations which support our students to be a LEARNER are explicitly taught in classes, acknowledged and rewarded across the school. The language is clear and concise and the visuals assist our students to learn and respond to the expectations.
