Dear RISD Staff and Community,

I’m writing to share with you some personal information regarding my family as well as

news about the day-to-day leadership of RISD this spring.

Effective immediately, I’m taking a leave of absence. I have multiple family members

with significant health issues who need my support during this time.

The decision to be away from the District during this time was a difficult one but wasmade easier by my complete confidence in our leadership team working under the

direction of Deputy Superintendent Jeannie Stone. Dr. Stone will work with the Board

of Trustees and District staff to continue our excellent progress this year and finish2015-16 strong!

In the meantime, I deeply appreciate your kind thoughts, prayers and well-wishes

during this challenging time for my family.
