Waardi is currently finalising contracts with Catholic Education Office of Western Australia to deliver Reading Recovery in 2016. Waardi has accepted expressions of interest from four Catholic schools and one Independent school for 2016 for ongoing professional learning for Reading Recovery teachers. It is unlikely any funds will be committed to training Reading Recovery teachers in 2016 due insufficient interest. This is very encouraging for Waardi as we continue to research LAPS in 2016. Waardi welcomes Chris Bergmann as a Literacy Researcher for 6 months, to investigate if Waardi can help to bridge the literacy gap for our Kimberley kids starting school. Through our Waardi literacy projects we have found when many Kimberley kids arrive at school aged 4, they are way behind, for reading, writing & talking Standard Australian English. A poor start means it is almost impossible to ever catch up. We want to find a way to give our kids a head start so when they get to school they are very ready to take off. We are working on a project that will give parents information to help their kids be really ready for school, so they have the best chance to succeed. Don’t hesitate to contact Chris if you would like more information.

and are very close to finalising the design for the six houses. The tender for the construc-tion of the houses is expected in the next couple of weeks.

As the lot sizes are smaller than the Yawuru dual key house lots, Guumbarr has agreed just to have a 4 bedroom house on each of the six lots, rather than trying to squeeze on an additional stand alone 1 bedroom unit.

Guumbarr has been working closely with the Derby based architect appointed by Department of Housing

Guumbarr has now sold the 18 vacant lots in Broome North from LandCorp back to LandCorp, at the same value they were transferred to the Land Trust. LandCorp paid all the fees for the transfer and the repurchase. These funds will allow the Land Trust to repay Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) loans taken out to build the two houses H+M Tracey built and to purchase the Coghlan Street office.

The sale of the 18 lots to LandCorp means that the five remaining vacant lots can now be developed. A tender has gone out to Broome builders for the construction of the five houses.

It is expected that by early 2017, houses will have been built on all of the Land Trusts 13 Broome North lots. The Land Trust will have title to 13 houses in Broome North and the Coghlan Street office, with a total loan amount of $1 million. This will place the Land Trust in a good position for when Native Title is determined and the $20 million for housing becomes available from the State.

The two houses built by H+M Tracey were completed in early December on time and in budget. Guumbarr inspected the completed houses and were very happy with the end result. Guumbarr was able to rent the houses to GROH straight away.

When you have completed your application form and all supporting documen-tation is attached, you will receive a receipt confirm-ing this.

Then once we have your completed application, we need to check your eligibility; funds available; process the application and then make payment to the supplier or reimburse you.

The office will let you know when your applica-tion has been processed and ready for payment by sending you a text message or by calling you. The minimum processing time is 7 days. Please do not call the office during this 7 day period as it slows down everyone else’s applications.

In late March, Woodside made an announcement to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) that as a participant in the Browse Joint Venture, that following completion of front-end engineering and design (FEED) work, the Browse Joint Venture participants have decided

not to progress with the development at this time consider-ing the current economic and market environment. The full announcement is available on the Woodside web site.

Woodside have made it very clear they are not going back to James Price Point and will still look at processing gas offshore, but on a smaller scale.
