On a wonderful late winter day 45+ golfers made their way out to
Lakelands CCto play the WAPGC club 4 Ball Ambrose day. The weather
was kind and everyoneenjoyed a well presented course and fine
hospitality. As expected some teamsplayed the course and mastered
the ambrose game better than others.Congratulations to Claire,
John, Prue & Russell as the winning team. It was greatto see a
few new & old faces at the game. Thanks to Glen from
Byfieldsfor presenting prizes to the better golfers on the day.

President’s Report
After the long break between the WA/SA Challenge, Lakelands
wasrefreshing course to ease our way back into competitive golf
again. Beingan ambrose event, members were encouraged to bring a
friend and thissaw a number of new faces about the place,
pharmacists, pharmacyassistants and spouses. This was the entire
aim of the event, so as to growour numbers and spark interest among
potential members, so that theymight return to WAPGC again some
time.
The committee is continually trying new innovations, such as
Ambroseevents, new courses, such as Lakelands and Kwinana so as to
make theclub attractive to new members, as well as to sponsors, so
that we cancontinue the fine tradition of networking and golfing
within our industry.With neither new members, nor sponsors, this
golf club could not function.As such I implore you to support our
sponsors and take up the sponsorson their offers for free
appraisals, competitive analysis or to hear whatthey have to
offer.
In regards to the new courses we are looking to play courses
that havea quality reputation and affordable to play on which
maintain the standardsthat we are used to as members of the WAPGC.
The committee is looking tomaintain a balance of the premiere
courses along with other qualitycourses in the metropolitan areas.
We always welcome your suggestionsand feedback in regards to all
matters of our club includingcourse selection, game program &
social program.
With two games remaining for the rest of the year, its time to
consider theupcoming elections and whether it is time to nominate
for a position. If youthink you have something to offer, that the
current committee shouldconsider other innovations, it may be time
to give it a go!!
The election will be held at the AGM at Mt Lawley on Tuesday
24th ofNovember. Nominate now!
