City plume of Karlsruhe was detected under convective weather conditions. NO2 didn‘t show a very high but nevertheless a clear signal of mass flux into the lee of Karlsruhe. Ozone was build up about 4-6 ppb on a distance about 40 km from emission sources. CO2 increases due to CO emissions and photochemistry by about 4 ppm. PM10 aerosols show a „typical plume behaviour“. O3 of Dimona too high.
The Karlsruher city plume of 25/07/07 is not an extreme event, but show ordinary conditions.
What do we learn?

The use of a Zeppelin as measurement platform is helpful, but more experience with the Zeppelin is essential.
Transport processes of air pollutants during moderate convective conditions could be investigated. This knowledge is important for studies of vertical transport and studies due to the healthy of the population.
DO 128 provides reliable trace gas data also for further IOPs.
What do we plan?
Modelling the Lagrangian experiment with COSMO-ART.
Investigation of vertical transport processes in convective systems.
