2014 HIGHLIGHTS• Provided $130,000infinancialassistance to those participating in

YMCA programs and activities.

• HostedthefirstannualYMCAHealthyKidsDay/WapelloCountyHealth fair. This successful collaboration helped hundreds of local youth, families and adults to learn more about healthy lifestyles.

• Out Lifetime Wellness Program helped 44youthfightchildhoodobesity and lost a total of 212 lbs.

• We continue to expandouroutreachfitness Community Wellness Program by providing classes, health fairs and health education.

• Groupfitnessclassparticipantsputinover32,000hours in the 70 plus weekly classes. New class additions include BodyVive and Cross Training.

• We served over 14,000 meals & snacks to children in our community free of charge through the Summer Food Service Program.

• Over 30,000members/programmembersattendedourgroup fitnessclassesto stay active and healthy.

• In2014ourDiscoveryLaneEarlyChildhoodCenterprovided153,960 hours of fun, safe and quality care to 248 children.

• Over 900 children learned sportsmanship and teamwork throughout 10 sports seasons with the help of more than 100 parent volunteers.

• OurPROWDprogramhasserved 80 special needs adults from our community with participants losing, on average, over 5 lbs.

We are pleased to present to you the 2014 Ottumwa YMCA Annual Report. Please review these pages for information and highlights from this past year of YMCA service to the Ottumwa Community! Another safe and successful year for our Discovery Lane and Safari child development programs, record number in our Wellness and Fitness programs and a record-breaking response of 14,000 nutritious lunches and super-snacks served to our local youth during the summer months. These programs and so many more delivered to this community in response to the needs of our youth and families! 2014 also brought the successful revision of our membership structure making the Y more accessible and responsive to all of our Y members. Our “Your Y, Your Way!” plan is easy, affordable and relevant for everyone. Thank you for your involvement and support! We look forward to another wonderful year in 2015!

I learned to swim, play basketball and enjoyed every minute of my time at the Ottumwa YMCA. That’s been many years ago, but I still remember all the fun times I had at the Y. I want children today to have to same opportunities that I did. That’s why I support the Ottumwa YMCA, for the children of our community.

When I walk in the door, about 95% of employees know, my children or I, and for me that’s the best part. This facility and it’s programs are so incredibly supportive of my family and my life style. I’ve received scholarship money to help pay for my membership and without that generosity, I’m not sure my success would have been possible. I adore all of the programs they offer for my children, as well. As a family we stay incredibly active, thanks to the OTTUMWA YMCA And for that, I will forever be grateful.

I love the structured, teaching environment that my child is a part of, he has learned so much at the day care. I’ll never forget the day my 1 year old counted to ten in Spanish for me, I was amazed.
