Dear Parish Family,
A blessed feast day of our patron saint to all! I hope that many of our parishioners will be able to attend the parish din-
ner celebrating the occasion this weekend after the 10:30 AM Mass on Sunday.
Last week I mentioned that Bobby Warhop had passed away and after the bulletin was printed, Joe Gottler, Jr. left this
world. We celebrated funeral Masses for both Bobby and Joe early last week. At the luncheon following Joe’s committal (at
Prince of Peace cemetery), one young man told me of the great kindness Joe had shown him. May each of us have similar wit-
nesses to our love of neighbor after we are gone from this world. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace!
The Lighthouse Kiosk is loaded again. Please take some of the great Catholic material and give a donation for future
purchases if you are able. The new RCIA class begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2nd! There are some small cards to
hand to friends inviting them to come in the vestibule of the church. Please take as many as you need.
I was invited to attend a conference on parish life entitled, “The Amazing Parish,” which will take place in Denver this
week. It will showcase some fantastic speakers (www.formstack.com/forms/?1705868-3sGvqJSzwP) and, since this is the first
year for the conference, it is free. Someone gave me some frequent flyer miles for a plane ticket, another friend is lending me a
car while I am there and I will stay with a priest friend. The final factor that convinced me to go was that it is a mid-week con-
ference so I don’t have to miss any Sunday Masses at our parish. Due to the trip we will have no daily Masses on Wednesday -
Saturday at 7:30 AM this week. We will have Tuesday Confessions/Mass and Adoration on Thursday/Friday as usual.
In Christ, our Lord,
Father James Dean

Youth Group News
Greetings from the Youth Director!
This past week we had our first youth nights for mid-
dle school and high school, and both were great suc-
cesses! Thank you again to all the parents and volun-
teers who helped out. We still need volunteers for
next month, so if you are interested please send me
your contact information so that you can receive my
weekly update (a more detailed version of this bulle-
tin section). The first movie night for middle school-
ers is coming up this Friday from 6-8 PM, where we
will be watching the Lego Movie (It's awesome).
There will be popcorn and some other snacks, so I
look forward to seeing everyone there. The first high
school movie night will be next month, and I will
give you a heads-up about it as we get closer. Please
continue to pray for the youth program as we get off
the ground, and thank you for your continued sup-
port. Praise God for His many blessings!
In Christ,
Stephen Sylvester
