This Week:
Union of the Family
The celebration of the Holy family in
the Christmas season is an opportunity
to review and or examine our family
life. We celebrate the mystery of Jesus Christ, the
Word of God, who upon incarnating in the human
family followed the normal course of every person who
is born into a human family as well. However, we are
not only members of a human family but also by
baptism, we belong to the family of God.
The Son of God, the second person of the Holy Trinity
became man so that man could become a son or
daughter of God. The son of God was born on earth so
that man could be born in heaven. Jesus entered the
world of limitations and suffering so that one day we
can enter into the joy of his full glory.
Romans 6:10
Our parish is a family of families. The family life
offers us many wonderful experiences as well as
challenges that can test our endurance and patience.
The family is that setting where spouses or parents,
children, brothers and sisters learn to communicate
and show general concern for one another. I know
my father told me time and time again, “Mark will
you please show compassion to your sister, she is
the only one you got.”

WAYS TO CONNECT
A Prayer for the Family
Jesus, our most loving redeemer, You came to enlight-
en the world with your teaching and example. You
willed to spend the greater part of Your life in humble
obedience to Mary and Joseph in the poor home of
Nazareth. In this way, You sanctified that family,
which was to be an example for all Christian families.
Graciously accept our family, which we dedicate and
consecrate to You this day. Be pleased to protect.
Guard and keep it in holy fear, in peace and in harmony
of Christian charity. By conforming ourselves to the
Divine model of Your family. May we attain to eternal
happiness. (New St. Joseph People’s Prayer book)

Indiana March for Life and Rally
January 22, 2021 - 12 noon
The Indiana March for Life will begin at Georgia St. near St. John’s Church and proceed to the Indiana Statehouse. The rally will then follow on the south lawn of the Statehouse.
Registration is highly recommended, and can be done here:
https://rtlindy.org/home/volunteer/indiana-march-for-life/ Diapers will be collected at the march and rally for distribu-tion to local crisis pregnancy centers.
Nonetheless, in a family friction may occur
through differences in point of view or opinion and
conflicts have to be resolved, not by hurling insults,
but rather by dialogue, respect, concern for the
good of the other, mercy, and forgiveness. From
within families the values of love, respect, mercy,
and purity spill out into the world and radiate the
whole of society.
The family is indeed decisive for the future
of the world and society. For that reason, each
week during Mass, we pray for a different family of
the parish at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament,
that we will be a leaven of new life in our surround-
ing, strengthened in the values of God’s kingdom
and confirmed in virtue not only for our good but
also for the good of society. May it be so. Amen.
The Parish office will be closed until January 6th.
We look forward to seeing you and your families in
the new year!

Father of goodness and love, hear our prayers for the sick members of our community and for all who are in need, may
they find consolation in your healing presence. May these special people find lasting health and deliverance, and so join us in thanking you for all your gifts. We ask this through the
Lord Jesus who healed those who believed. Amen.
Please pray an Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be for the
following parishioners and their families, and always keep all
families in your prayers.

him, speak in and through him. Think your thoughts in his
mind, and love through his heart. Teach, lead, and guide

intimate union always. Amen.”
