As part of our jungle topic,
this week we are exploring
the story ‘The Tiger Who
Came to tea’. Read it
together here:

Can you remember all the
characters in the story?
Create some puppets to retell
the story.
Tips to support your child’s learning:
Encourage your child to talk about their choices and extend
their ideas and explanations further. What can we use? What
will they eat? How can we decorate the room?
Include writing opportunities: Encourage your child to write a
simple invitation. Who will they invite to the tea party? How
will they know where it is? What time is the party?
Include Number opportunities:
Encourage your child to count out the plates, cups, spoons etc.
Ask questions to encourage mathematical talk, for example
Can you cut the cake in half? Can you cut 5 slices? Is the cup
full, empty or half full?
Set up your own tea party!
Write an invitation for your friend!
The hungry tiger ate all
the food and drank all
the drink! Can you help
Sophie and her mum
write a shopping list to
buy some more?
Make your own tiger!
What could you use?
Challenge: How could you make it
stand up?
Tiger games!
