A special measure in the refrige-rating circuit prevents ice from forming in the base of the air exchanger.
The remote keyboard allows unit start and stop, Summer/Winter setting, 2 selections of ambient temperature, one of "COMFORT" temperature where the set point is visualized only on board, an other of "ECO" temperature that decreases in winter mode and increases in summer mode the set point and the hidric /cooling/electric circuit alarm signal. The connection is done with a shielded cable 3 x 0.34mm2 max 100m which is connected with the unit. Thanks to its pleasant aspect it can be installed in ambient.
Noise is one of the most critical factors of this type of unit. The application of special regulation logic enables to adapt the fan operating speed to the system load and to the external air temperature. In this way you can optimize the energy efficiency and guarantee the lowest possible noise level, especially during evening and night hours, when the air temperature is lower and sensitivity to noise is greater.

STANDARD UNIT SPECIFICATIONS
COMPRESSOR Hermetic orbiting scroll compressor complete with motor over-temperature and over-current devices and protection against excessive gas discharge temperature. Fitted on rubber antivibration mounts and complete with oil charge. A oil heater is automatically switched on at the compressor shut-down to prevent oil dilution by the refrigerant. STRUCTURE Structure made from "aluzink" plate, providing excellent mechanical charac-teristics and extensive corrosion strength PANELLING External panels in prepainted aluminium especially indicated in outdoor installation due to its superior resistance to corrosion avoiding periodic painting. Side panels are easily removable and allow complete access to unit components. Internal sound proof lining reduces sound pressure lev-els. INTERNAL EXCHANGER Direct expansion heat exchanger, braze-welded AISI 316 stainless steel plates with large exchange surface and complete with external heat and anti-condensate insulation. The exchanger comes complete with: - antifreeze heater to protect the water side exchanger, preventing the formation of frost if the water temperature falls below a set value. EXTERNAL EXCHANGER Heat exchange coil with aluminium fins and copper tubes in staggered rows. The coils are complete with integral subcooling circuit which assures the correct refrigerant feeding of the expansion valve. Available in different options as per optional list. The unit is fitted as standard with coil protection grills. FAN Propeller fans with aluminium pressure die-cast blades, directly driven by single-phase external rotor electric motor complying with VDE 0530/12.84, complete with thermal protection, IP 54 class according to DIN 40 050 norm. The impellers are housed in aerodynamically shaped nozzles to increase the efficiency and minimize the sound level, and protected by fan guards. REFRIGERANT CIRCUIT The circuit is complete with: - filter dryer - expansion device - high pressure switch - low pressure switch - liquid receiver - 4-way reverse cycle valve - Ice Protection System: system to prevent ice on the bottom of air coil TRAY Thermoformed ABS condensate collection tray fitted with drain pipe. ELECTRICAL PANEL The Power Section includes: - compressor and fan fuses only on unit 230/1/50

The copper/aluminium evaporator coils with acrylic lining can be used in the room where the ambient air contains a concentration of salt and other not very aggres-sive agents.

The Fin Guard Silver, for finned exchanger, is a polyurethane vernish waterproof (for waterworks, see and discharge water). It is also resistant to oil products and other different solvents. It hasn't any effects on the air side pressure drops.

HEATING ELEMENT WATER-SIDE PRESSURE DROP
On request the unit can be provided with integration heating elements. Different powers can be selected based on needs. The electrical heating elements are immersed in a small 1-litre tank equipped with a safety thermostat The heating elements are activated by means of an on/off button as a main or additional component based on a temperature threshold, based on parameters defined at first start up.

(3WV) three-way valve
Built-in 3-way valve for domestic hot water
The unit is provided with a 3-way on/off valve to divert the flow of water to a hot water storage tank. Activation of the 3-way valve takes place by means of closure of a dry contact on the electrical board of the unit. As soon as this function is enabled, the set point of the unit is placed at the value established by the appropriate parameter in the electronic control.

Disposal for inrush current reduction, for unit 400/3/50+N
Starting up a motor directly can overload the electricity network, with start-up currents up to 8 times the nominal current. Thanks to the breakaway current reduction device, start-up takes place gradually, with the start-up current being limited during this period of time. The start-up current can therefore be reduced to 3.5 - 4 times the nominal current, meaning that the power systems and protection devices can be sized with lower parameters. In sizes 41 230/1/50, the soft starter is included standard.

The serial communication module to supervisor (MODBUS) is connected with the principal module through a comb connection (see lay-out on electrical panel). In this way the remote assistance and supervision are available through standard MODBUS protocol. It is possible to connect to a single supervisor system up to 127 units. The connection to PC must be obtained through a converter RS485/232; the serial port RS232 admits as maximum a 10 m length. The serial communication module to supervisor (MODBUS) is necessary when the unit is connected to ELFOCONTROL.

The module makes it possible to control the temperature of a domestic hot water tank, not provided by Clivet. The adjustment module comes with 2 temperature probes, 1 safety thermostat, power circuit and heating element control with protections against short circuits (the heating element is not provided by Clivet) and the installation box. As opposed to the control of domestic hot water performed directly by the machine electronics, the kit makes it possible to set re-fill time periods and anti-legionella cycles, and to manage a re-circulation pump on the storage tank.
The storage tank must be suitably sized based on the combination with the selected heat pump.
