VUKUNET Player Installation Procedure - Local
Review Minimum Hardware and Software Requirements prior to installing the VUKUNET Player to ensure proper installation and operation (Can be found at end of this document). Make sure that all software is correctly installed prior to installing the VUKUNET Player. Ensure that the PC you are installing the VUKUNET Player on has access to the internet and that the Scheduled Tasks function is operational (Check from Control Panel – if Icon is present it is operational).
The following list of software prerequisites is critical to the proper installation of VUKUNET. Make sure that the following free software is correctly installed on the PC prior to installing the VUKUNET Player:

VUKUNET Installation Procedure:
1. Stop the CMS player on your PC. (See the User Guide of your 3rd party CMS on how to do this).
2. Use this opportunity to change the PC Desktop Background to Black. This will make Ad Playing transitions clearer and more professional looking. To do this:
a. Right Click on the Desktop and chose Properties from the list.
b. Left click on the Desktop Tab and select “None” for Background (it is at the top of the list).
c. Go to the “Color” Pull down on the lower right and left click on the arrow, then click on the black square to select color.
d. Click on OK to save.2. Open Internet Explorer to access www.VUKUNET.com. Enter your Email
address and password to log in. Passwords are case sensitive 3. Once the Dashboard view is available, click on the Downloads Tab. 4. Select the correct version of VUKUNET Installer for your PC and double click on
the icon. 5. Choose to save file to your PC and remember the file path to the saved file. 6. After file has completed downloading, close the browser. 7. Locate the VUKUNET Installer on your PC, and double click on the icon to begin
installation process. (Installation time will vary) 8. Follow directions as indicated throughout the installation procedure. 9. Upon completion of installation, you will be asked to restart your PC. 10.On Restart, VUKUNET will complete its installation, communicate to the
VUKUNET server, and your 3rd Party CMS should also restart (if it was initially set up to auto start on PC reboot. If not, manually restart your CMS.)
11.To verify that the VUKUNET player has successfully installed you should notice the following:
a. Your CMS is running as intended b. Every minute, for 5 minutes, the VUKUNET screen will appear for 15
seconds and then disappear. c. After 5 minutes, only your CMS will display. d. If this has not occurred, check the VUKUNET FAQ for quick
troubleshooting guide or contact the VUKUNET Help Desk. 12. If the VUKUNET has successfully installed, the local installation is complete. 13. In order to make this player accessible for Advertising, you will need to return to
the www.VUKUNET.com site and continue your venue setup by assigning this screen/player to the appropriate venue.
Quick - Trouble Shooting FAQ
1. I see a black screen every minute – not the VUKUNET Video. a. Make sure that you have installed all software (with the proper versions)
listed in the installation prerequisites.
2. I didn’t see anything after the reboot other than my CMS playing. a. Stop the CMS Player b. Hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and choose Task Manger. c. Click on Processes Tab d. See if VUKUNET Player and VUKUNET Client are listed.
1. If they are, go back to www.VUKUNET.com to see if screen/player information has been up loaded.
2. If they are not, reinstall the VUKUNET.e. If you still do not see the VUKUNET video play or the screen/player
uploaded information, contact the VUKUNET Help Desk.
