The BHS Rotor Centrifugal Crusher RSMX is suitable for all types of minerals, from soft to hard and from slightly to extremely abrasive.

Patented twin-chamber rotorWith over 30 years of experience BHS-Sonthofen is the specialist for vertical shaft crushers and impactors. Since 2001 the patented twin-chamber rotor represents a milestone in the further development of these machi-nes. This type of rotor enables the size reduction of even toughest and highly abrasive feed materials.

Cubical end productsEach single particle of the feed material is accelerated by centrifugal forces and precisely directed against the im-pact wall. Any random effects during material processing are systematically excluded. You obtain a fi nal product of superior cubical shape.

Selective size reductionAs a result of the precisely directed impact the size reduction of any individual particle containing less resistant components than the rest will be achieved to a greater extent. This allows crushing of friable rock components in a targeted manner and, as a result, signifi cantly enhancing the quality of the products, i.e. Los Angeles values, frost resistance. In case of ores or minerals with components of different hardness one of the components will be enriched in the fi nal material.

Wearing partsAll load bearing parts of the machine are protected by easily replaceable wearing parts. The wear parts are made of materials that are optimized for their respective applications. Neither hardfacing nor storing a spare rotor is required.

Plug and playMachine and drive of the BHS Rotor Centrifugal Crusher are completely mounted on one base frame, ready for installation. A large, hydraulically liftable cover, slewable by 360 degrees, gives easy access to the wearing parts.

LubricationThe BHS Rotor Centrifugal Crusher comes with an auto-matic oil lubrication system with incorporated monitoring unit. This ensures safe and trouble-free operation.

Anti-vibration mountingThe rubber spring elements installed between base frame and machine absorb all vibrations of the crusher generated during operation, thus keeping them away from the supporting steel structure. An electronic vibration detector will shut off the crusher in case of any excessive vibrations.

Applications with anvil ring confi guration

• Production of cubical shaped aggregates and sand from medium-hard, moderately abrasive feed materials such as: gravel, limestone, dolomite, diabase, basalt, andesite, broken bricks

• Selective crushing of, for example: nagelfl uh and other rock deposits interspersed with soft portions, moderately abrasive slags, industrial minerals, mining overburden

Applications with rock shelf confi guration

• Production from rock or gravel of cubical shaped aggregates, track ballast and sand even from highly abrasive feed materials such as: gravel, granite, porphyry, gneiss, graywacke, quartzite, cement clinker, glass

• Crushing of highly abrasive materials such as aluminium oxide, ferrosilicon, grinding materials

• Selective size reduction of slags from: steel mills or waste incinerating plants

You get more versatility:The BHS Rotor Centrifugal Crusher can be operated either using a rock shelf or an anvil ring as impact wall. Depending on your requirements, this allows to further cut down on wear parts costs or to achieve a higher size reduction effect. The changeover from one confi guration to another is accomplished any time in a matter of minutes.

Working principleThe material to be crushed is fed centrally from the top into the rotor of the centrifugal crusher. Inside the rotor the material enters the amply dimensioned centrifugal cham-bers, that eliminate clogging and allow a high throughput rate.

Inside the rotor the feed material is highly accelerated and hurled to the outside. This energy input is optimally supported by the pa-tented, new BHS Twin-Chamber Rotor design. Subsequently, each single particle impacts the stationary impact wall (anvil ring or rock shelf). There, the size reduction is effected by impact producing a highly cubical shaped particle.

Minimized wearWear in the BHS Rotor Centrifugal Crusher is reduced to a minimum. The patented twin-chamber rotor is characterized by functional simplicity. Within the centrifugal chamber a rock shelf is formed serving as self protection against wear of the rotor.

If harder rock is handled, we recommend to use the rock shelf as impact wall making use of the rock-on-rock principle. Hardfacing or even storing a spare rotor is not necessary.

The crushing result in the BHS Rotor Centri-fugal Crusher remains completely constant during the full lifetime of the wear parts - this also makes a signifi cant advantage as com-pared to crushers using conventional crushing technologies.

Optional equipment

MotorsThe motor drive power required for your particular application will be determined based on empirical values or crushing tests. You always get the right motor size.

LubricationIn case of higher ambient temperatures and increased temperature of the feed material a lubrication oil system with adjusted cooling power can be provided.

Supporting structureIf the crusher shall be positioned independently we can offer a supporting steel structure, which is optimal for maintenance and absorbs vibrations generated during operation.

Control systemA separate control unit, if necessary also with frequency converter, can be offe-red to monitor the machine functions. This unit is only required if no computer-controlled central control system is available.

Safety systemThe standard safety equipment of the crusher is in compliance with the EC machinery directives. By means of an additional key transfer system the handling of the safety measures necessary for maintenance and repair can be further facilitated.

Wear componentsDepending on the wear behaviour of the feed material we can choose from diffe-rent types of centrifugal profi les. Thus, you always get the confi guration that is best suited for your particular needs.

Quick change systemThe anvil ring is available in two designs. If space conditions allow the attach-ment of a lifting tool, a quick change system can be provided for the anvil ring as an option. Otherwise, the anvil ring elements can also be replaced by hand.

Air cannonIn case the feed material is extremely susceptible to caking, preparations can be made for installing an air cannon system to the crusher.
