DSTV including the direction where the dish is facing (East) The difference is that we are able to transmit back to the satellite

The signals are of extreme low power RF levels and travel long distancesof 36 000km that takes 500ms to reach the low orbit satellite in space.(what is termed latency)

The ground station or remote is what is at the customers installation site

A HUB station or control centre will enhance operatebility of the service The different signal frequencies are operated in Bands, C band , Ku , Ka

etc where signal strength and cost are relative

Rain and atmospheric fade has adverse effect on operations hence that isthe biggest challenge in guaranteeing service quality
