Volunteering is One of the Most Meaningful Ways to Give Back to Society!

Americans are avid volunteers! In fact, in 2012 over 64,000,000 Americans volunteered their time to make our country a better place to love for all!

Do you want to join our community of volunteers? Great! This is how you do it!

First: Think about how you want to make a difference? What do you care about? It is the elderly, youth, education, the arts, the environment, health? Think about it so that you can come up with your personal giving platform!

Tip: It feels much better if you are contributing to an area that is personally important to you!

Second: Can you give of your time and/or of your expertise? How many days per month can you volunteer? A day, a week, two weeks? There is no wrong answer because volunteering needs to fit in to your life! Are you an accountant, graphic artist, florist, lawyer, writer or another profession who can offer assistance to an organization? If so, you will be so appreciated!

Third: Think about an organization in your area that can contact. Call them up and get started! However, if you don’t know of an non-profit to contact in your area, don’t worry! There are plenty of fantastic organizations that can help you find the perfect volunteer opportunity:

• 1-800-volunteer.org• Network for Good• Points of Light Foundation• Volunteer Match

That is all you have to do to join the millions of Americans whose lives are fulfilled because they are making a difference through volunteerism! Join them! Source: Network for Good
