Our Church on Mission Dear Bethany Family, Summer ScoopsBible Study: I am excited to let you know about an outreach Bible Study, which our members have been leading. This event, called Summer Scoops,is designed to reach out to children and their families. We have been meeting at Farnsley Park (3100 Wedge- wood Way, in the Bon Air area), at 6:30 on Wednesday night, since June 15. This program will last until August 3 (except for Vacation Bible School week, July 11 through July 15). The ac- tivities—accompanied by scoopsof both Scrip- ture and ice cream—last until about 7:30 p.m. If you want to come help us, we would love for you to become involved! We need several adults who can build relationships with other adults, while the children are engaged in their activities, and assist in other areas. Please be in prayer for this event. Ask God to use our church to reach the lost in our community! Call our Church Office, at 502-452-2681, if you have any questions. Crossings Camp: Our youth and a few adult leaders left June 20 for a week at Crossings Camp. In all, four- teen of us took the trip. Thanks for the generous donations that have made it easier for our fami- lies to send their children to camp. Participating students are Shelby Ford; Eva Gray; Jessica and Lauren Lee; Lauren Marshall; Jasmin, Jeante, and Jericho McCauley; Olivia Vickery; Dayvon Washington; and Marley Yopp. Partici- pating adults are Paula Johnson, and Angela and Jeff Lane. This years theme is, Identity.According to Crossings, We will look at the challenge of identity, thinking about the idols that may exist in our lives and how Christ is so much better than anything we try to put in front of Him. We will also talk about the change of our identity; in Christ, we are a new creation.Pray for everyone attending this year. Pray for those in attendance who do not know Christ. Also, pray that those who do will be strength- ened in their faith. Montreal Team: Bethanys Montreal mission-team members have returned. It was such a great privilege to serve with Aaron Boswell and Renaissance Church. Five of us represented Bethany in Mon- treal: Nancy Barbati; Emily Dawson; Paula Johnson; and Angela and Jeff Lane. Our goal was establishing relationships with those who do not know Christ and sharing the gospel through such relationships. We spent much of our time working with an organization called Share the Warmth, which provides inexpensive food and clothing for those in need. We were able to develop numerous new relationships through our service. We were able to have many Christ-centered conversations and to point individuals to Renaissance Church, as well. Pray that God would continue to work in Montreal and that He would send peo- ple to water the seeds that were planted. Grace and peace, Jeff ________________________________________ NEWS + NOTES = We will again distribute cold, bottled water to our neighbors, while they are exercising and playing in Cherokee/ Seneca Parks, on selected Saturdays this summer.
