Volcano facts• A volcano is a landform it is sometimes a mountain. • It is where molten rock erupts through the surface of the planet.• It is a hole in the earth where molten rock and gas erupt.• The name volcano means Vulcan who was a roman mythical god he is the

god of fire.• Magma is liquid rock.• There are 1510 active volcanoes in the world.• When magma erupts it is called lava.

The parts of my volcano• The sill is magma that pushes its way between layers of

rocks.

• Volcanic Vents are openings in Earth's crust where molten lava and volcanic gases escape.

• Strata layers are made up of layers and layers of larva from previous eruptions

• A magma chamber is a large underground pool of liquid rock found beneath the surface of the Earth.

• The mantle is a magma that cuts across rock layers and hardens one of the three main layers of the Earth. It lies between the innermost layer, the core, there is an upper mantle and a lower mantle

• the thin outermost layer, the crust. The mantle consists of hot dense, semisolid rock and is about 2,900 kilometers (1,802 miles) thick.
