The sixth edition of Semeru highlights Halal bihalal

event, which is an annual family gathering of

staff (workers and managers). The event gives an

opportunity to the managers to meet family members

of their subordinates in a friendly environment, which

helps in strengthening the relationship between them.

Other highlights of last quarter are:

“Appreciation”from Mayor of Probolinggo City for

conducting Blood donation camps.

New best practice of special screening of female

workers for detection of breast and cervical cancer.

Eratex believes that good communication and relations between workers and

their managers are one of the essential requirements to build a strong Company

by providing quality products and services to customers. In this regards, the CSR

team organized annual Halal Bihalal event which is a family gathering function. The

event held on Sunday, 9th August 2015 inside factory premises. Workers along with

their families participated in this event and enjoyed various entertainment activities

such as music performance from workers and their children. The attraction of the

event was enhanced by 200 lucky draw prizes which included Refrigerator, washing

machine, LED Televisions and much more. Overall it was a refreshing event for all

the employees.

Cycling Tour

Eratex cycling club (ECC) organized a cycling day tour on 11th October 2015, to

Bentar Hills, along with other cycling enthusiasts from local police department and

other residents of the city. The cycling route of 35 KM, which started from Eratex

main gate, is full of natural beauty with landscapes and challenging tracks. Cyclists

reached its destination in 3 hours.


Eratex with the support of Red Cross (PMI) Probolinggo held another “First Aid

training” seminar in factory premises on 3-8 October 2015. 130 workers from

various departments were carefully selected to attend this seminar and gain

valuable knowledge / training from professionals of PMI. The training material

included subjects like Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), which is a lifesaving

technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning in

which breathing or heartbeat has stopped. They also learned complete treatment

for minor injuries like putting plaster on a cut etc. The knowledge gained by the

workers will also be helpful to the surrounding society.

HER Project committee continued with its initiatives aimed at improving the health of

the women employees. In last quarter, productive training sessions were organized

to cover the following key health awareness topics:

1. Diabetes mellitus, cervical cancer, and breast cancer

2. Pregnancy and contraception

The knowledge gained by trainees (PE) was adequately shared with 2,200 employees

through scheduled day-to-day interactions.

Breastfeeding DayWoman committee along with PEs organized breastfeeding seminar in factory clinic

on Sunday, 9th October 2015. The objective was to spread awareness about benefits of

breastfeeding such as breast milk contains “lactoferrin”, which is good for improving

baby’s immune and digestive system etc. Besides, some related information was also

explained in this seminar, such as how to use the breast pump, effective conditions

to store breast milk etc.

During this occasion female workers were also briefed about lactation room inside

factory clinic which can be used by mothers for various activities relating to the

topic. The availability of refrigerator in the room allows storage of breast milk which

can be given to the baby at any time while mother is working. The activity was greatly

appreciated by the mothers working in the Company.

Tree Planting & HER Project Park

Environmental

Planting trees/plants is a part of consistent environment protection activities in Eratex. A

new environmental project called called “Ruang terbuka 1000 pohon” (Open space to be

converted into park with 1000 trees) was initiated in second quarter. Under that project

total 55 “Mast” trees were planted in last quarter. Mast tree is very effective in reducing

the noise pollution in surrounding area.

A team of one of our prestigious buyers also obliged us by planting “Mast Tree” during

their visit to our factory.

The team also created a green park on Her Project theme in front of factory gate. Different

types of flowers were also planted in this park which will start decorating the main gate

after some period.

Local Community CareTakjil Distribution During Fasting PeriodThe month of Ramadhan is a fasting month for Muslims. The breaking of fast is

done after sunset, usually by consuming snacks which is often referred to as Takjil.

Distribution of Takjil is also a popular culture in Indonesia.

Eratex also distributed Takjil packages containing bread, kolak (Indonesian dessert),

and mineral water in front of factory gate on Sunday evening 5 July 2015.

Blood Donation Award from Probolinggo Mayor

Eratex along with Probolinggo Red Cross (PMI)

continued its tradition of organizing a blood donating

camp in factory clinic once in 3 months. 82 employee

donated their blood in last such camp. Eratex has

also been awarded a certificate of appreciation by

Mayor of Probolinggo city on 25th September 2015


Best Industry PracticeScreening of Cervical & Breast Cancer

As per survey of Indonesian health ministry, the cases of breast cancer and cervical

cancer are on rise in the country. An early detection of this disease can significantly

help in full recovery. Eratex is one of the first Companies in East Java to start

checking cervical and breast cancer for the female workers with the support of BPJS

(Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial-Sosial Insurance Department].The event for

checking was organized in BPJS clinic on 16th to-25 September 2015 for married

female workers. Furthermore, only workers that have got married can join test. In

its first phase 125 workers went through this check- up and no case of such disease

was found.
