Greetings!

I am overwhelmed to share second issue of 2019 newsletter “IRMRA- Rub Tech Focus – IRTF”.

IRMRA has evolved to a premiere institute in rubber research and development after its

inception in 1958.

The mission of IRMRA is to provide total solution in rubber testing and development along with

bridging the gaps by skill development to serve the rubber industry. I am glad to share with you

as a part of our expansion plan we will very soon inaugurate our branch at Kolkata and Chennai

along with multiple other locations in pipeline.

To serve our customers in a best way we are also upgrading the existing facility with latest

equipment. We appreciate all our members for being associated with us and being a part of our

growth journey. I take this opportunity to thank all our customers for helping us grow and

sustain.

The primary focus of this newsletter is to stay connected with our members and customers and

provide a glance at technical aspect of rubber technology.

Events & Celebration

IRMRA as a tradition, celebrates Independence Dayevery year. This year also IRMRA organized “73rd

Independence Day” celebration on 15th August 2019.The day was celebrated at Headquarters and t itsregional centres also. The celebration started 3 days inadvance by displaying 73rd Independence Day logo andalso illuminating the building with lights and displayingthe banners both in Hindi and English at various placesinside the premises.

A Technical workshop was conducted at

Vadodara, Gujarat on 19th July 2019 on the

topic on Rubber material and testing which

was attended by 70 participants from

manufacturing, user and trading industry

The 60th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of IRMRA

was held on 25th September 2019 followed by

IRMRA’s AGM Award Ceremony at Hotel Orchid,

Mumbai. Dr. R.K.Matthan, the President of IRMRA

presided over the meeting. During Presidential

address, Dr. Matthan appreciated the role of IRMRA

for growth of Rubber Industry and complemented

the team of IRMRA. IRMRA announced its AGM

awards appreciating the contributing business

partners in different sectors. The President, IRMRA

also felicitated the Awardees from Tyre sectors, Non

Tyre Sectors, MSME sectors including the

Government sectors with AGM Award and certificate

of appreciation.

1) Patents & Paper Presentation:

1. 1 paper“Phase changing stearate ions as active fillers in multifunctional carboxylated acrylonitrile

butadiene composite: Exploring the role of zinc stearate” published in JAPS.

2. A research paper co-authored by one of our scientist entitled “ Performance optimization of Co203-

PVDF-CNT based Super capacitor electrode through multi-response optimization method” is

accepted for publication in IONICS.
