No. 2006-ag-2218, PhD student in the Department of Irrigation and Drainage, Faculty of Agricultural Engineering and Technology, UAF has successfully defended his PhD synopsis on 25-02-2015. The title of his synopsis is “Modeling near real time water distribution system for irrigated Indus Basin using remote sensing and hydrological model”.

6. Mr. Tanveer Iqbal, Regd. No. 2004-ag-2042, a PhD student of the Department of Plant Pathology, has successfully defended his PhD synopsis at University level on 13-02-2015. The title of his synopsis was

“Incidence and Molecular Characterization of Pathogen Associated with Citrus Canker Disease from Punjab”. However, as per agreed suggestions by the experts and house discussion during the presentation of the synopsis, the title was revised and new title of his synopsis is “Molecular Characterization of Pathogen Associated with Citrus Canker Disease from Major Citrus Growing Areas of Punjab”.

HONOR FOR THE UNIVERSITY Prof. Dr. Ashfaq Ahmad Chattha, Director External Linkages and Climate Change Chair at Pakistan Centre for Advanced Studies Food Security/Agriculture has been appointed as Australian Awards Ambassador. The appointment was made in an Australian Alumni Gala Dinner and Excellence Ceremony held at Australian High Commission, New Delhi, India. During an Investiture Ceremony, the Australian High Commissioner at New Delhi, India His Excellency Mr. Bernard Philip awarded the Endeavor Award Ambassador Certificate to Dr. Chattha on February 18, 2015. During an esteemed award-giving ceremony, Dr. Chattha was the only Pakistani who was awarded with such a high ranked award from the country. AUCTION NOTICE 1. UAF is organizing Spring Festivl and Convocation. To facilitate the visitors, parking will be available at different

spots. In this regards parking stands will be rented by open auction on 16-03-2015 at 01:00 pm at UAF. The persons who are interested, may come & bid. One third of the total price will be recovered on the spot and the remaining amount will paid after the approval of competent authority. Under section 236A of Income Tax Ordinance, 2001 Advance Income Tax @ 10% of the sale proceeds will be collected from the successful bidders and deposited in to government treasury through Income Tax Challan. The competent authority reserves the right to accept or reject the highest bid without assigining any reaosn.
